I think the <del>Far Cry 3</del> Ubisoft formula has really run it's course.

The Wii game had a lot of "mmo style" quests as well. I suppose this one will have even more.

Granted, if you let go and repress the same direction, you're fucked. But you can happily transition to the next camera view whilst holding the direction you're going in and Chris (or Jill for that matter) will remain on course.
