Agreed. There are 3-4 ties in some spots. Next time...

Well that's timely. I just hung my monitors and organized my cords with one million zip ties last night. It was a nice little Friday night.

I think the notion that we live in a some kind of meritocracy has always been false. The rigidity of economic class just happens to be exponentially more so now. I think tricking for the trimmings is, and has always been, one way of breaking free of it, but it is among many other solutions that technology has most

Should we really be teaching our kids to trade time for money? Why not teach our kids to identify problems, dream up solutions, and figure out how to present those solutions to people (or businesses) who could benefit. Kids' imaginations are not constrained by the conformity of the paradigm the author suggests. Most

Z-wave is fairly awful for anyone without a tolerance for intermittent failure. Hardwired solutions like AMX or Cresteron are still (unfortunately) the only practical solutions for home automation. Until the "Smart Home" innovations can catch up to the progress SONOS has made on the audio side, I wouldn't trust my

I can't wait until they are affordable. Even with dual 1080 monitors on my desktop I long for the resolution of my MacBook every time I sit here.

Samsies. I've found that the blade makes a huge difference though and everyone's reaction is different. If I deviate away from Merkur Platnium blades I break out like a teenager.

Yikes, that is awful. That's not the first I've heard of that happening with Tripp-lite.

Just get a Blue Yetti. Once this is available I will use this on my DSLR while continuing to use my Yeti for voice overs and sitting interviews. It's just hard to imagine a shotgun DSLR mic competing with a dedicated desk mic like the Yeti.

I should note, the Powervar unit I nominated is true sine wave but I have no idea how you, as an individual consumer, would get one. If you can score a consumer grade line conditioner (with an isolation transformer) for a reasonable price, I'd start there.

It depends what the issue is. If you have an active PFC PS, you definitely want a sine wave APC. However, this still may not be your issue. Most people believe that power problems originate from the grid but this only accounts for about 30% of power issues. 70% originates from within your own walls. If you aren't on a

This new discussion area is driving me bananas. See my reply over at the vote for CyberPower 1350.

It's great that CyberPower finally makes a good sine wave product. However, it is only a 0.6 power factor and you're losing 40% of the wattage per box capability. It also does not have an internal isolation transformer. It is probably good for a home PC, but it doesn’t clean the power necessary for business,

Because it is the standard measurement of equipment load. What else would they be measured in?

    VOTE: POWERVAR GTS

Full disclosure I am an electrical engineer and work for a company that distributes Powervar products (not to end-users).

WHY: APC and CyberPower units lack low impedance isolation transformers and are self-sacrificing in the event of a surge. If I'm you are going to spend that kind of money on a unit

Years ago I had an audiences of 20 people or so twice a day 6 times a week, I originally took the job as a way to face my absolute dread of public speaking. I grew to enjoy it and overcame the fear entirely... Until my father passed away. Though I wasn't very close nor did I feel a tremendous sense of loss some
