I have to ask, am I the only person who doesn’t think Anime charcters look Japanese? Like if you did a blind test of people who have never even heard of Anime before and showed them some still photos of characters, what ethnicity would they pick? Without clues like warddrobe and story.

GRRM is so masterful at interweaving those side stories into the main arcs that it seems like it would be difficult for the show to make those up without any details as to how each character’s arc plays out.
