What sucked about it?? It was Godzilla, and he was a fussin' and a feudin.' Worked for me.

Oh man, the delay. The delay is the worst. He even sorta tries to throw another jab after the dick-punch, and then The Pain takes over. Brutal.

Did people NOT like Godzilla? What the hell was there to dislike about it? The radioactive breath moment made me shout and pump my fist in the air like a small child.

When Charlie Whitehurst makes you look bad, you need to reassess some shit.

Holy lord that made me giggle.

Oh yea, it makes perfect sense that it's a subgenre, and those dudes are what drew me to country in the first place. It's probably my penchant for booze and blow and pills and loose women (never was incarcerated though). The Highwaymen are the greatest.

Yup, Oscar-winner Adrien Brody is in TWO shots, I believe, and has no lines (according to him he was a fully-fleshed out character with an arc and everything) and other actors such as Viggo Mortensen and Billy Bob Thornton were just cut out entirely. I think John Cusack still hates Terrence Malick for Thin Red Line.

I see. I wasn't ever really aware of the "Outlaw" subgenre but I will now go around saying it as much as possible because it sounds cool as fuck.

Nah, you can pull off sandals if you're a nebulous brown ethnicity and slightly (to very) overweight.

I dunno, no? I was just listening to some Lightfoot the other day. He was a badass. Probably not "outlaw" but his shit was good.

Iran's nuclear program is terrifying, can you even imagine a country that would be so evil to purposefully use a nuclear bomb on another coun- oh.

Agreed. And Gordon Lightfoot, but I suppose you could also argue for rock/folk with him.

Lazy Exacting. I remember Woody Harrelson said he stayed on the set of Thin Red Line for like three months after his role had wrapped, just to watch Terrence Malick direct.

It absolutely is an excellent film. It's also overrated. They're not mutually exclusive.

Dirge. I like it.

But...man. Most of that shit wasn't even CG! It was my main man Douglas Trumbull who did the stargate sequence of 2001: A Space Odyssey. The majority of the universe stuff in the "Creation" segment of Tree of Life is like milk swirling in an aquarium full of water and shit. That stuff is absolutely genius and it gets

Zodiac's overrated? No way. Zodiac is the definition of an underrated movie. Fight Club is fuckin' overrated.

Roger Deakins is probably right next to Emmanuelle Lubezki as two of my favorite cinematographers working today, and Skyfall was fucking gorgeous (the Hong Konk LED jellyfish fight sequence blew my mind). BUT, in something like Life of Pi, yea, a lot can be done on a computer, but the shot still has to be planned.

Yea, but are we talking contemporary country, or just country in general? Because yes, contemporary country is twangy pop, sure.

Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson would all like to give you a beating behind a dive bar.
