and 2 or 3 engines, lol. And I love VW/Audi.

I hope it has a generator that spins from tire rotation to keep the battery charged so it never dies, if it doesn't they're dumb and I'm going to copy the design and add that feature to mine. Boom... Profit.

bulletproof and built well is a vast overstatement. I have worked on about 8 if them of all years, about. They leak and are unbearably loud above 50 mph on the highway with the top up once past 6 or so years old. Ever hear one crank slow with good battery/starter/cables? Yeah the thrust bearings are likely shot and

we didn't get enough late 80s early 90s audis. Specifically the 20 valve 5 cylinder powered T44s (200). We only got one model year (1991) of the 200 20v. 1990 models could only be had with the still awesome but limited 10v engine which was 160something horsepower but could make about 200 easily with a chip. 1992

there are such a thing as tasteful mods that will increase the selling price if a vehicle.

Rain sensing wipers are pretty damn amazing too...

like how Porsche stuck with rear engine in the 911. Remember when they had cast iron weights in the front bumper to make them handle somewhat acceptably? That "wrong way" has been hammered into submission quite well.

same here, built a 400 hp '79 Monte Carlo when 17, then a few turbo Audis, now a V8 6speed E39. Had to get a turbo Quattro audi again too though... For winter.

I have no problem with this. Every reason they give for banning is valid.

no e39 540i? You can find them for cheap ( might need a little work like thrust arm bushings or interior love) like $5k cheap and you get a 300hp v8 ( they're under rated at 282 or 290 depending on year) with gobs of torque available from 1500 or so. Oh and they're also RWD and an M5 LSD diff can easily be swapped in

So what do you do with a pair of Bugatti wheels once you've plunked down the cash?

I have worked on and therefore driven a few late model Si's and I don't understand how anyone can possibly "love" one as a daily driver. They are hideous inside, the engine has zero torque and is relentlessly buzzy when at an rpm that makes a useful amount of power to really move the car.

jealous... But... How much per liter is petrol where you are?

that is what wife and I have. 560i-6 and a 330Cic-A. Needless to say my turbo audi wagon gets us around most the winter (she still drives her 2.8 miles to work in the convertible as long as snow isn't too bad) but I love my 540i. Mines the somewhat rare 2003 only factory mtech package with staggered 18" mpars, m5

Not to mention the E60 is by far he least attractive 5 series of all time, even in M5 guise... Which is admittedly sexy, it isn't nearly as good as any of it's successors nor predecessors.

Yup, I love me every generation of M3 but gimme some V8 torque. My 03 E39 540 6speed with an M5 3.15 LSD swapped in May not be as outright fast, but the way it builds speed is just effortless, not high strung and manic.

Mercury is the brand, they use all different kinds of engine and do these in house. Mercury is actually the current distributor for Volkswagen marine, which is awesome. Our water taxi in Venice had a Volkswagen marine setup, it was a nice rig.

big oil/gas lobbyists also have a little something to do with this...

yeah, there hasn't been any tail light innovations...

vehicles have gotten more and more over the top since then, the show has followed suit. Sort of to be expected, no?
