The service industry isn't technically a middleman? A waiter doesn't work for a restaraunt that gets the food/beverage from a source then in turn sells it to you?

So you are claiming everyone should be able to buy every product directly from the manufacturer? Congrats, you just destroyed over half the jobs in the modern world. This may be news to you, but very few people "make things" anymore, reselling is what most occupations consist of, one way or another.

I love my E39 540i (2003 with the factory mtech package #1090 of 1265) I swapped in an m5 diff and other goodies. I wanted an m5 but couldn't justify the extra $6k for a similarly clean example for that extra 30-40 whp in the last 1500 rpm. Plus the s62 can have the potential for very expensive issues. I know someone

Annnddd reason # 537395646 why we will likely be keeping our E39, E46, and old school audi T44 pretty much forever.

If that is true I will gladly retract my statement.

I understand and usually echo the complaints below. I miss silky smooth n/a i6s and super high revving i6 v8 and v10 M engines, but remember where these cars are developed... Europe, where gas is the equivalent of $8+ per gallon. I've been traveling Amsterdam, France and Italy the past few weeks and I haven't see a

if the engine is behind the rear axle... There is nothing mid engined about it. I don't care how far forward you push the engine, behind the axle is rear engine. A boxster/cayman is mid-rear, as the engine and trans are essentially spun 180 degrees from the 911s layout.

wants to clean up aero... Installs non functional hood scoop... Genius!

Connecticut can't be too far down the worst list...

full boost under 3k rpm should never be an issue on a stock turbo fast spooling set up. I install performance parts on new cars and also own a 23 year old turbo 5 cylinder audi that peaks at 22psi at 2700rpm. The chipped and upgraded VWs handle it well, all the jap stuff , even when tuned is laggy as hell, I can only

as someone that works on MK5/6 VWs daily and also saw an Italian imported development mk7 back in February I can say the mk7 while subtle, is a notable improvement over the mk6 car. I hope the Mexican made thing doesn't cause many reliability and build quality issues. I know I'm happy my 2 BMWs and one audi are ones

Yeah, from 6.0 liters too... If it were from a 4.0-5.0 liter v12 I'd understand, it'd be that many cylinders mostly for smoothness, but a 6.0 should be making at least 480 IMO.

this. I tend to prefer the kids without lyrics too, they just distract. Most my fellow wrench turners prefer music of the electronic sort... It ex entrusted the natural rhythm.

I do like how the front seat backs almost form a "wall" midway in the cabin, probably adds a ton of rigidity.

we have both. The 540 is great because v8, 6speed, coilovers and I installed an M5 Lsd. The 330Cic has a bit more sporty steering feel and the top drops. I still like my 540i more though.

my fiancé drives a 330Cic. It's a great chick car.

Yup, a tune along with a good intake and turbo-back exhaust is good for over 270hp and about 300 ft/lbs.

" let's give the new car the illusion of better visibility"

This is especially unfortunate because I am pretty sure 85% of these vehicles are driven by females between the age of 16 and 22, approximately 78% of said females have an average of 2 lbs. of gaudy obnoxious key chains on their key rings.

It is a lot of money for an old car, but I could never build one this clean and powerful for less. As a 540i owner, extreme wagon lover (and owner), and former Gbody owner, I would have a hard time picking the 540iT over this thing. Sure it'll handle better (when the rear subframe mounts aren't shot, they usually are)
