For this movie, apparently looks were a secondary factor in choosing the actors. The producer and the AoT creator prioritized the ability to embody the character in spirit over who looked the most like a character.

I won't lie, I'll probably watch this just to see how the actress playing Hange goes about playing such an... excitable character. Not often does a character come around where you can completely overact without it breaking character.

It's a puzzle game, calm down.
