He’s only going to be in jail for another year with this sentence (actually a little less than a year - his time served counts toward the 24 month sentence). I’m betting someone comes for him when he’s released.

Buzzfeed is reporting the kidnapping may have been staged by the daughter, although the mother legitimately believed the daughter was kidnapped.
I think one big thing is that they’re more “officially” non-violent than actually non-violent, with anyone who wears a yarmulke knowing to give them a wide berth.
It would have to be a loss of accreditation to get them to fall in line. But, would the accreditation orgs even care? They don’t seem to now as the schools have already been handing out junk grades to athletes. The whole system is a mess.
“My goal is to make it difficult to have a winning program without also having a high graduation rate for athletic programs, forcing colleges to select students who could graduate and then seeing them graduate. If colleges are looking for athletes who can graduate, high school grades will matter.”
Lol! Do I get a crown for this historic first? I should def get a crown. ;-)
I know! I really liked the idea. I also appreciated that the panel this year was majority women of color as well. Honestly, this speaks volumes as to the selection of the winner this year.
Just providing an interesting fact. Not trying to change your mind.
Ironically, all of the judges for the Miss Universe pageant this year were women and most former Miss Universe/Miss USA winners. I thought that was an interesting choice as I’ve never seen that before in any televised pageant I’ve seen.
Considering her final statement in the competition itself was that she grew up not seeing women who looked like her with her skin tone and her hair and that this exclusion needs to stop, it is clear that the Miss Universe organization is not going to force her to maintain the status quo. Honestly, the only person…
Honestly, whenever Black women break down barriers like this there is always someone to act like there’s no way a dark skinned, short natural hair woman would be considered unattractive when we know that is not the case.
The DeBarges have had a hard life on account of the severe physical and sexual abuse they endured at the hands of their father (which has been discussed and documented in other platforms). Here’s hoping they are able to find peace through that trauma at some point in their lives.
I don’t get why it’s so hard for people to just say, “I was wrong. My bad.” Today I was short with someone and I was dead wrong. I told her, “My apologies. I didn’t read your email correctly and that was my fault. I’m sorry.”
Good point I should’ve mentioned. It is possible to get repatriation, but you really have to be sure to read the fine print.
From what I read, he has no health insurance including Medicaid. He lives in Georgia and Georgia refused to expand Medicaid under Obamacare. So, the odds he has access to non-expanded Medicaid and still has the means to save for a cruise are about zero. Just like millions of others, this poor guy doesn’t have access…
I just learned about Medjet this year. I was shocked to find out traveler’s insurance wasn’t as inclusive as I thought.
This is my greatest nightmare! So glad to hear your friend had the coverage she needed. Hope she’s fully recovered!
You’re welcome. I didn’t know about Medjet or Global Rescue until earlier this year when I was doing research on how much travelers’ insurance coverage I needed in case of emergency repatriation from Japan. That’s when I found a Forbes article on how most travelers’ insurance doesn’t actually cover repatriation even…
FYI, folks. If you have enough money to travel internationally, you have enough money to protect yourself in case of medical emergency. You need two things:
