I <3 this so much.

Planned Parenthood even went door to door in my neighborhood to give people info about this. I don't remember everything that was said because my cat chose that moment to dash out the front door. The very nice woman helped me cajole her from underneath the car even as she continued her spiel, but I have the pamphlets.

I agree. There's Alien and Aliens. I know nothing of this "Aliens 3" of which you speak...

Amen to this.

I haven't seen Linnea Sinclair yet, but she writes great Sci-Fi.

I can only physically star once, but you have all the stars of my heart.

Things Every 20-Something Needs to Realize, v2:

It almost looks like a Clicker from that game The Last of Us.

Yeah... I'm one of the dense ones. I missed that entirely. But I was also multi-tasking (sacrilege, I know!), so I'm definitely going to watch this again and pay attention this time.

Yes! I've always wanted to write something good enough to be stolen! You are welcome to it, my friend.

Came here to say just that. "The guys would be a mess without her" isn't a signifier of a woman's competence in a show, it means she's the mom in the paper towel commercials. You know, the one who smiles, shakes her head fondly, and cleans up the mess of the kids, husband, and dog without a word.

Did anyone else think of The Bloggess and Nathan Fillion with Twine fiasco a year ago? I think they both ultimately had good reactions for something not unlike this.

Perhaps, except for the fact that so many people haven't heard of Scientology or aren't a part of it. I'm semi-convinced that it's mostly Hollywood folks who are members with a few sects in small towns to do all the actual work. I've never met a Scientologist myself. At least, not that I know of.

+1 for the Smart Bitches!

TL;DR - Does anyone have a summary?

Neither did I. And I liked the Smiths. I'm disappointed to learn of this.

Definitely! I got baby sister hooked into reading with this one. I used to read it to her at night. She wanted one with pictures, but I told her that with books like these, she had to close her eyes and imagine the pictures, which was better anyway. For a long time, she called all non-picture books "Close Eye Books".

Ha! That's great! Were they scavenged ingredients?

I was actually disappointed in the rest of the series, although I still devoured them. I wanted them to keep living in that boxcar. Their self-sufficiency was a big part of why I loved it. The story just wasn't the same after the moved in with the wealthy grandfather.
