Prices in my area are up to date, and with stations swinging the prices by 30 cents on a daily basis but not in lock step, it’s helpful to figure out which station in my area hasn’t jacked their rates that day.

Even factoring in my having to change the transmission in my C-max last month (260k miles,) my hybrid has been the cheapest to operate vehicle I’ve ever owned.

How does the 12V system get recharged - from the electric batteries, right. So heave 12V use would deplete range.

A fair number of people do in fact go out and buy a car because their old one died that day, or they got a repair estimate that was more than the car was worth.

You still have to worry about if you overpaid, because Elon might change the price on a whim the day after you buy.

I’m pretty sure ordering a vehicle isn’t a binding contract on either party in the US.  You can refuse, and they can not deliver.

Actually, that’s not their job. Their job is to sell you a car, that day, while squeezing you for the most possible amount of money they can.

The question is:  How many times do you do a sub 5 second 0-60?  Is that the sole decision factor in buying a car?  The point of the article is cheaper hybrid and ICE cars get the job of meeting the transportation needs of most people.

I had a white Isuzu P’up, and after I wrecked the truck and the whole front end had to be painted I painted it Sunburst Orange Mica (a factory color.)  When I eventually sold it, I had many people come look at it, then decide they couldn’t drive a vehicle that color.

That’s exactly what I do every time, because I’m not paying C-store prices for anything in there.  They have priced me out of the snack market.  Long trip - I bring my own drinks and snacks.
