The average truck also gets worse gas mileage than the average car. So rich people driving big expensive trucks means they pay more in gas taxes. Plus, being that everything is bigger in Texas, I bet they put more mile on their car than say someone in the NE.
It cost the salesman a sale. Toyota sold all the Tacomas it can build.
It’s like drink sizes at most restaurants. There’s Med, Large and Xl, even though Med used to be small.
Huh? I fully understand what you meant. You spend $75 a week in a ICE vehicle. That’s what you meant, right? Right?
I understand how you get a $75 a week gas bill with a non-hybrid, but you can’t claim that as a disadvantage of a hybrid over a BEV.
Same here. C-Max with 230k miles. Very reliable. No belts. No alternator. I haven’t touched the brakes, and they still show very little wear (and as a delivery driver I has to change them often in previous non-hybrid vehicles) No starter. Shares transmission with design with Toyota. Oil changes at 10k miles. I’ve had…
That’s not a hybrid, is it? Brilly is using non-hybrid fuel economy to show why electric cars are better than hybrids?
I’m a delivery driver with a hybrid, and I have to fill up every 4 shifts I work at a cost of around $35 a fill up. So most weeks are 1 fillup, some are 2. If I wasn’t delivering in this car it would be 1-2 fill ups a month.
Sure, up until your seat crushes my knees.
Shouldn’t be surprising at all. Every cable and phone company is guilty of the same thing. Has it stopped? No, because the FTC doesn’t care. The only likely result to the company if reported is a ‘Don’t do that anymore’ letter. We get the ‘false advertising’ claim where I work (a restaurant) all the time. Guess how…
Yeah, so there should be a time limit on vehicle liens, particularly for vehicles/trailers that aren’t worth the effort repossessing. I’d say a 10 year cap on liens would work, or if the tax value of the vehicle is below say $2000.
Yep, professional delivery driver here. I’m on the road 40+ hours a week. People have become worse in the past 5 years. Not just on the road, but in stores as well.
And yet if a vehicle has a lien on it, there is no way to remove it in my state unless the lienholder signs off on it - even if the lien was 30 years ago and the company no longer exists.
If only we didn’t allow said group to largely fund their campaigns by accepting money from pseudo-people who can’t even vote (i.e. corporations.)
A few good ideas, a few bad ideas. First off, if you want to help with the income disparity for tickets problems the first thing to do is get rid of the ridiculous court costs scam. They can double or triple the cost of your ticket. It’s really hard to base ticket costs on means, however. Too many people are…
What difference does is make to the 8 dead people if he hated them or not? He should be charged with 8 counts of murder, not manslaughter. I’m not normally in favor of the death penalty because of government incompetence or outright prosecutorial misconduct, but this is one of the few cases I’m OK with it (due to overw…
I (an e46 330 vert owner) bought one because I needed something that would transport a person that had limited mobility and their wheelchair/walker. I took it on a very long trip at the end of last year was was pleasantly surprised at how well it did. It was comfortable to drive 10 hours a day, had good power on the…
I have relatives in FL, and listen to an afternoon radio program from Orlando where they talk about this fairly regularly. The big complaint from insurers is actually fraud, namely roofing fraud. There’s a slight leak after a storm, and less-scrupulous roofing companies have made a business model of accepting the job,…
The problem with that is twofold. First the values of cars change fairly often, usually down, but sometimes up. The second is the insurance companies are afraid people would overvalue their car and attempt to destroy it in order to collect more money.
