Probably because they try to cheap out and put indoor rated equipment outside, and then wonder why it fails all the time. Just some wild speculation on my part.

Yeah, we had the Celebrity sedan version when I was growing up. The pluses for this car: Lots of room for teenage fun. It’s actually a pretty good highway cruiser, took lots of road trips in that car.

Luckily (I guess) they finally consolidated the vehicle property tax with the DMV for registered vehicles in NC. So now when you go to register your car you have to pay property tax at the same time in order to get registered. Formerly, you would register, then get a tax bill due in 2 months. If you didn’t pay they

Probably like the better Carolina in that we pay property taxes on vehicles every year. When you buy a car (or bring one you already own into the state) you also pay Highway Use Tax (HUT) of 3% of the value of the vehicle.

The big problem with wheel bolts is getting them lined up correctly as you suspend the tire in midair, because if you let it touch the hub the hub just spins around.  I’ve shown the special tool to a couple of local tire shops, and they’re always like DOH.

+about 15% for ss and medicare, a hidden tax that there are no exemptions for, but when you reach a certain income you no longer have to pay the ss portion (medicare goes on forever, but it’s 1/10 of the ss rate.

These were very popular with the teen girls at my grandfather’s school in Miami.

What kind of car do you have? Because as mentioned, my cars automatically crank the heat or cool based on temperature differential between outside and inside the car air.  I turn off the AC manually in my BMWs because it will leave it on, but in my Ford C-Max it will automatically turn off the AC when it gets cold

In older German cars I’ve owned (80's Jetta and Audis) the only 2 choices from the center dash vent were cold air and no air. Supposedly cold air kept you from falling asleep at the wheel.

Exhaust pipe makes a great extender, and you can get it big enough to slide over many tools.  It’s cheap enough that you don’t have to worry about damaging it, but I’ve used a 5' long section over a breaker bar to bust German axle bolts which can be over 300 ft-lbs.

That’s odd.  On every car I’ve had you just set the temp, and the car uses it’s sensors to calculate what it needs to get there.  So set at 72, it’s freezing outside - full heat once the engine temp is warm enough.  No cold air blowing on you during the wait.  In the summer - set to 72, it’s 95 outside - full AC on

Re: German cup holders. No, they don’t believe you should be drinking while you’re cruising down the autobahn at over 100 mph. Most BMW cupholders are easy to break, especially if they are of the pop-out variety.

Except that asset is also providing utility.  Your statement is just like the old ‘rent is throwing money away’ statement.  Rent is providing you somewhere to live.

I use my power side mirror to aim their lights back into their face.

I’ll agree with this one.  The only time I have driven this was the Friday before a 4th of July weekend.  Traffic was moving at 70, with less than a car length between vehicles.  As noted the on/off ramps are terrible, I would liken using them to landing a jumbo jet on an aircraft carrier.

Sounds like they weren’t offering much of value to the athlete. New Corvette in 68 to a player not making nearly as much as they do now - nice bonus. A Chevy Colorado to someone making 10's of millions a year, yeah no wonder he gave it to a teammate.  A new Hyundai would be a slap in the face to most MVPs now.

I feel the same way about pedestrians who can’t seem to look both ways before they cross the road, yet somehow it’s the driver’s fault when they step out in front of a car. The logic is the person driving the deadly object has the obligation apparently only works for cars.

I used to live in between some train tracks and a high school.  In the 10 years I lived there on 3 separate occasions a high school student ran their car into the side of a train.  Note the train didn’t hit them - THEY HIT THE TRAIN.  That’s with flashing lights.  Unfortunate timing that the train came by just after

You’d be surprised how cheap a seat is at a pick-n-pull. Plus that seat looks like the leather is torn in addition to the seam splitting.

If it was closer to me, I probably would have jumped on it.
