I want to put an electric drive in one of these. Gut the questionable mechanical and British electrical bits that are prone to cause disappointment. Replace the motor, transaxle, HVAC and controls from a wrecked Tesla. Put the batteries in the console tunnel. Boom. Modern Supercar sleeper with ludicrous mode. Who’s

It’s actually pretty roomy. The back seat is about equal to the Model 3, maybe even a little bigger, and because it’s a hatchback it’s got good cargo space. It may look small, but it’s actually bigger than a Bolt and most of the mini-suv’s that have been coming out.

Tires.  You can mod the crap out of everything else on your car, but if you can’t grip, you’re just wasting your money.  I finally got a set of summer tires this year, a bit wider than stock, and I can take a corner like I never could before.  It feels like a completely different car.  Always start with tires.

Is it just me, or have Audi’s from this era not aged as well as their Mercedes and BMW counterpart?

I worked at an Audi dealership when these were new. They had so many problems it was stunning. Somehow, I still like them though. Stockholm syndrome maybe.

It’s Monday and I still can’t buy a RWD Fusion or Camry.

Unless, of course, you want a wagon.  In which case, you’re extra screwed.

Woah woah. NSFW.

They also put a manual in the first gen X5....

I was pretty sure they didn’t...

My wife drives one of these. I am under no illusions that it is worth 30 grand. But since she wants to drive a manual SUV, we will probably never sell it so who cares? It is an awesome ride for a Jalop woman who needs to cart around two kids and a huge dog, and refuses to drive an automatic.

And for those reasons it should be a surprise that they even managed to sell 183 of them new when the price was what like 80-100k? Neat but a silly premium for a stick in a car that won’t be more fun for it. CP.

Did you both have the now required car seats until 10+ years old?

In the US lighting world, it’s an appliqué.

Here that engine made a respectable 210-horsepower.

CP when new, CP now, CP forever! God, the very sight of this shitbox makes me want to puke!

I feel like Tesla is an easy target due to them being highly visible in the media right now.

Tom has the best idea overall, but might I suggest:
