This type of stuff happens all the time. Pretty soon the U.S. is going to have a group of European teams here for some exhibition cuppity cup cup. Do you think the Barcelona players want to come here after their regular season instead of taking a vacation? Fuck no, they don’t have a choice.

The article states that the CBF admitted its for friendlies. An example for this agreement is for when they schedule these exhibition tournaments in the U.S. after the professional season. The players don’t want to go, the coaches don’t want to go, but they are such money makers they pretty much don’t have a choice.

Yes that is true but I think you’re missing my point. I don’t agree with what they’re doing I’m only saying that this agreement is to make sure that the people who pay to see these games get their money’s worth. Billy is writing it as if some agency picked the World Cup team. It just seemed like it

I agree with you but the purpose of this agreement isn’t to help the young-ins break into the national team, its to make sure that if they schedule an exhibition in The Rose Bowl that the 90,000 people there get to see who they want to see.

It’s not confusing it’s misleading. All it says is that the national team has to put its best players on the field, it doesn’t say that the marketing firm has the right to select who plays. This isn’t for important national tournaments, its mainly for friendlies and exhibitions. Billy is stating it as if some

The title of the headline is misleading Billy. All it seems to say is that the team needs to put its big players on the field for exhibitions and smaller tournaments, instead of playing a bunch of no-names. Its costs a lot of money to host friendlies and exhibitions, and people are less likely to go if the big names

I feel bad making jokes, I haven’t been herring good things about them lately

Oh my God between that final, The La Liga ending, and I think some other cuppity cup cup they played each other like 5 times in a one month period, it was ridiculous

I won’t. I’m just glad that they went and not Real Madrid. A Champions League final with two teams from the same country just doesn’t do it for me

Ah, it seems like only a year or so ago Deadspin was writing Barcelona’s legacy off with a Viking funeral and here they are, The The League Champions and about to take the Champions League trophy.

I’ve never wanted any club to go down as much as them. Granted, I’m not privy to the ground-level goings on over there but the fans’ bizarre hate of Alan Pardew was completely baffling to me. He had them on the top part of the table and they had websites calling for his sacking

I can confirm Bill Walton is a solid dude. I live in the beach area of San Diego and I’ve seen him thrice, talked to him once, very nice

13. Over-hop it - Crappy IPA drinkers

Of course it’ll make all the money this weekend and Mad Max will end up 3rd. Good job America, good job.

I’m not sure you read my whole post or maybe I wasn’t clear enough but I do like IPAs and I know that the good ones are hard to make, as is any other beer. My point is that a lot of IPAs are just mediocre beers which are overhopped, which as a brewer I’m sure you would agree. Some people like it that way and that’s

Thank you for not reading my whole post and confirming my opinion of ignorant internet commenters everywhere

I don’t have a search filter, it gets worse

Apparently its like suggesting to a hipster that they’re just conformists after all...

This is true, I’m just countering the argument that IPAs are the best beer because they are popular. Yuengling was the most popular beer of 2014, followed by BUD LIGHT LIME

Calm down Delores I’m not pissing on IPAs, the good ones are some of my favorite beers. My point is that they have dominated the market because shitty ones are one of the easiest “craft” beers to make, any brewer will tell you that. If you like hoppy beers because you like hops that’s fine, I’m just stating a personal
