The problem wasn’t that they were lackluster, the issue was that they were made apart from the main game. You had to go with a physical/combat build to beat them, anyone with a stealth/hacking setup would be thoroughly ass-kicked

Well I was thoroughly bashed yesterday for daring to suggest that getting fresh beer right from Stone is better than bottled Pliny, I'm glad to see my opinion validated.

I've been to Russian River and had Pliny from there, its glorious. But having it bottled just isn't as good. Stone always has a line-up of one-off or limited edition brews that you can only get there, but are better than anything bottled, IMO

Unless Russian River opened a brewery in San Diego that I don't know about, a lot of breweries here have limited edition beers you can fill up a growler to go, that are much better than bottled Pliny. As far as breweries go Lost Abbey is a must. Also Societe is great. For actual brewpubs Toronado and Hamilton's are excellent, and are pretty close to one another

Don't get me wrong, I've been to Russian River and had it there and it was sublime. But drinking it bottled just isn't the same, especially when we can get much fresher brews locally

It is ridiculous. I live in San Diego, people make way too big of a deal about it when we can go to Stone and get a growler of any number of better brews fresh off the teat, and we don't even need to know a secret password to get it.
