I’m still amazed that someone as business-shrewd as Ru would have given that messy answer in an interview. He sounds all of his 57 years in that response, and not in a good way.

I see Ru’s initial point in a way. At what point are you not doing drag anymore because you are a woman? But I also understand everyone else.

I don’t think he is being unreasonable here at all. He accepts trans people and welcomes them. But it really is different when they start formal transition when its a drag competition. And, yes, there are always going to be blurry lines about when a transition really starts. Because gender is not a black and white

You have to be a real sick fuck where you have “rebel barracks” and a confederate flag on a mural, but those aren’t even the most disgusting part. Holy shitting Christ.

You’d have to be a real sick f*ck to think it’s even remotely appropriate to display a lynching in an elementary school.

My one problem is this clearly only lists restaurants with female head chefs. I looked at the map for my area and immediately asked “where’s Bambinelli’s” an Italian place nearby that’s been run by the same tough-as-nails woman for longer than I’ve been alive. And then I thought, “that’s right, Bonnie’s not the chef,

I don’t think non American European would be considered minority owned. It would be mostly Black, women, non European immigrants. You can also get a list of LGBTQ owned and friendly businesses from your local Pride organization.

Viola Davis is a god damned treasure! If you havent seen her on The Actors Studio on Bravo please do so.

I’m not sure what the requirements are or how they are validated, but I live upstate with only a handful of restaurants on GrubHub/Seamless, and it says that half of them are “Women-led.” However, I know who owns and runs these establishments and they certainly aren’t women.

The nuance and craft to Viola Davis’ words is lovely. The way she slants a syllable.

CLOVER I MISS YOU AND I LOVE YOU!

OMG that was exact thought! I was like...look at these four smart, successful, tenacious Black people in one room, working. I need to see more of that.

honestly, you don’t need to catch up, just watch these two episodes (one of each show from last night). they’re amaaaaaazing.

Y’all I was SOOOOO impressed with this crossover! That read was stupendous. And there was a scene in which four black people were sitting in a room having a professional conversation and the extraordinary ordinariness of it (in life, but never on screen) got me teary-eyed.

Haven’t seen either show in years but damn it I may just binge a few seasons just so that I can truly savor this episode. I love a good wig snatch

AND she called her high sanity! I died.
