This is heavy....

A long time ago, when I was a young, impressionable armor crewman, I saw one of these (at either Grafenwöhr or Hohenfels) on a live fire exercise. It seemed to come out of nowhere and made two quick passes on the target - which looked like a BTR-80 - and just chewed it to pieces. Perforated it like a giant soda can

Custom desktops are very cool. The problem is that I’m always working and never see it except for a few seconds at startup and shutdown. It’s not like I sit around monitoring changes to the temperature. Maybe if I had some spare monitors I could hang them on the wall and admire them like that.

Yeah, who knows what it takes to get out of the grays. I've been posting for 5 years and I'm still in the grays.

I guess my prize is not going to be getting promoted out of the grays.

“Buy? I graciously accepted it as a free loan because Land-Rover begged me too. Personally I prefer riced out civics.”

Um...I don’t think China is quite there yet with the quality control.

To anyone wondering why that thing is so small: IT IS A TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATOR. It is no meant to see combat, ever. They will use it to test various concepts and use the findings to build a proper fighter. It’s in the same vein as those guys:

It’s because of this,

As it happens it was me that put Rogoway in touch with the Sheahans. Some of my paternal (2 brothers) cousins, on their maternal side are related to the Sheahan clan. When they decided to go public, I thought immediately of FA and Rogoway, cleared it with them and sent him their information and a heads up on their

I see very few things in common with the guy who wants to ride a sportbike in a straight line fast with his thug buddies, whilst wearing shorts and a t shirt - and the guy who truly loves and tries to experience motorcycles.

I wouldn't use that analogy - there's a much larger difference between high-speed subsonic (e.g., 737) and even a low-supersonic (e.g., B-1B) design than high-subsonic and low-subsonic. As soon as you get more than nominally into the supersonic regime, you need a pointy nose or the wave drag is going to kill you, a

It absolutely, 100% has to do with pedestrian crash ratings, and nothing to do with aero. Crash/safety regulations are one of the biggest drivers of the “normalization” of car looks; there are only so many ways you can make unobjectionable shapes when you have so many dimensional constraints.

Like the other posters, I’m not an expert but I think it’s because if it was too sharp, it might pierce the air and cause small sonic booms which would make the car sort of annoying. Imagine driving and having your car go boom, boom, boom all the time.

The only answer I can come up with is pedestrian collision requirements. But I don’t know those specific requirements.

my ears are bleeding from that, um, what ever it was, a turd?

That was before lunch, bro

I guess this new generation has never heard of Rice-a-Roni, where you brown the pasta in a pan before adding the rice, spices and boiling water.
