Yes. My point wasn’t that they won’t lose resale just as fast, it was that depreciating 50k isn’t as bad as depreciating 70k+ in the same time frame. I hold the same sentiment that people buying these cars new don't really care about the resale.

I very recently bought a used LS 460L. I've never been a luxury car person and never paid much attention to Lexus, but I've been enjoying the car and may consider a big luxury sedan when I go home...

Most of my co-workers drive BMWs, with a couple of the other German luxury brands sprinkled in. One drives a Volvo. I have an older Lexus. All used since this is not a permanent location for any of us. Their initial costs were lower, but it seems their long term costs will/have surpassed mine. I don’t really care

I’m in the middle east where these seem to be plentiful. There were actually good condition LS 460s for $6000-8000 but with higher miles or having/missing certain things. I’m more of a sports car person but figured I’d try out a V8 luxury sedan for something different since gas is dirt cheap here.

I never said I’m buying one? I see where your bias comes from though. $15-18k KBB for a 2015 “Prestige” S3. Is that considered good resale value?

This brand is Korean.

You’re joking, right?

I’m stuck overseas and my new CBR1000RR-R is stuck at the dealership. Watching other people right motorcycles is the best I can do until the travel situation changes.

Glad the new season has started and hoping Marquez is able to rejoin soon. Sad that due to extenuating circumstances I haven't been able to go to Qatar for the third year in a row.

Haha. I watched the video before continuing through the article and wanted to comment about how hard the passenger was trying to defend FSD before I saw Torch mentioned it.

Have a 1990 CRX Si and a 2008 S2000. Two items from the list. Won’t ever sell either.

Been working overseas for the past 8 years. My 2008 S2000 has been sitting in the garage. I’m sure it’ll need some love after sitting for so long, but should be in pretty good shape still. Stock with 40-45k miles. Looking forward to seeing the value rise, but I’ll still drive it on the weekends :)

Bought the new CBR1KRRR SP last year. It’s still sitting at the dealership waiting for me to pick it up 4-5 months later due to work/travel complications.

What construed “fascination” with the gear indicator? I recently purchased a 2021 CBR1000RR-R SP and wish it had a traditional fuel gauge. When there’s a feature that essentially costs nothing to add, it’s annoying to not have it. Gear indicators and normal fuel gauges are examples.

It is. It seems cliche to say it now, but it’s still true. Most people don’t need anything more than a Ridgeline. They’ll never admit it because that would mean admitting that they’re just trying to fit an image...

To be honest I really dislike VW for a lot of reasons. With that said, it looks nice. My biggest concern is that 8.5s 0-60 holy crap.

I want a Tesla, but not the build quality. I need a practical family CUV type thing in the next year or two. I had my eyes set on the Model Y. I keep holding out that “surely the build quality will improve,” but it doesn’t.

Do you wear earplugs while using them? Still easy to hear?

There are valid reasons for the size, but I’m waiting on helmet/comms manufacturers to all come together and develop some sort of standard to add these things inside helmets -- safely. Buy any helmet following the standards, and later add any bluetooth system that follows them. I know the side of the head probably

I’ve wondered about this as well. I’ve never used a helmet comms system or earplugs, but will start using both. Ultimately, I know I’ll just have to try it myself and see how it goes.
