The owning public doesn’t need to buy autonomous cars for them to become ubiquitous.

Yet no one is asking for a Tesla Model S convertible? Then again at least 30% of any given human population lacks sense and taste, regardless of income.

E90 wagon!

They don’t know via data, they just know by feel... unless they’re German.

Audi for example uses real metal that’s thin-stamped and fitted over plastic pieces. It’s the same technique Mercedes and BMW use on their top line cars.

Trust me on this, in one of the many lives I’ve lived I’ve done industrial design work on automotive switches. The first (and last time) I let a design engineer just finish out the work the customer was not just disappointed but thoroughly angry with the outcome:

Thats the bitron stuff, durable.

Audi’s switchgear in say, an A8 is an aluminum-shrouded version of the same gear you’ll find in a Golf. A GTI has an aluminum-edged version of what a standard Golf has in all black.

This is a big “uh-oh” but not because of the results:

I’ve seen more than a few supercars on the shoulders around here. Most recently was a Rapide, flat front right tire.

As someone who also lives in the Chicago area (and has blown tires, and bent wheels as well) there’s a reason why my E91 has 16's on it.

I cried. It was beautiful.

THAT. WAS. AMAZING!

I’ve done it both ways Doug has listed, buyers are cool with it if you’re honest.

There’s two sports car points:

If I’m not mistaken, both Top Gear and Car magazine have undertaken similar trips. Ferrari undertook a similar trip in 612 Scagliettis! Can you really get mad at these owners when the company that made the car already promoted the brand as such?

It has the ground clearance, the proportions, everything and the bling! Plus it makes an Escalade look weak.

If this proves to be true I hope they come out with a V12 (or V16!!) SUV instead.

I find it interesting that a lot of grille discussions about electrics focus on how electric cars don’t need air intakes.
