Amazing that global commerce lives and dies on marketing. If people actually had to deal with facts over hyperbole the entire global economy would collapse overnight.

I hate people who think this is what the law is for: to compensate you financially because you hurt.

You should see San Francisco these days...

Ultrasuede, Alcantara, and microsuede are all variations of the same thing: a synthetic textile made in either Japan (Ultrasuede) or Italy (alcantara) but textile giant Toray Industries. Technically the Alcantara side of hte business is only 70% owned by Toray, but the chemical composition is the size. They also make

Biggest problem holding us back:

So any compensation plan (say lifetime emissions equipment repairs, or extended emissions component warranties) are transferable to the used owner or any subsequent? Interesting.

What about the buyers who bought the car pre-owned, either from a VW-Audi dealer (and under VWAG financing) or from other dealers? I would assume they get nothing from VW as they weren’t the original buyers, or do federally-mandated recalls affect whomever is the current owner of the vehicle?

Thanks for the information, Illinois requires emissions testing on cars after a certain amount of years from first registration so there’s a ticking clock inevitably.

I like how my Golf TDI performs just fine. I don’t see myself voluntarily bringing my car in for any software changes if there’s some forced change implemented... in fact I will probably take my TDI to my old German car specialist from here on out just to be sure. What I find interesting is how far the Volvo keeps traveling, diagonal to the impact whereas cars that fail this test pretty much stop.

Why is anyone surprised that a sprawling, multi-departmental and multi-corporate behemoth program is fat and late?

The Italian influence in Auburn Hills since it became FCA USA is hard to dismiss.

Here’s a fun one: The Fiat G.2/2

It’s rather fun how they made the opposing forces hardware seem so outmoded and impotent - despite showing designs that themselves are outmoded already.

I was looking for some sort of high-performance auto analog but perhaps there truly isn’t one... $100k Mansory G-wagens vers an i8?

There’s a reason some well-heeled buyers would take a Hellcat over an i8 and vice versa.

It’s cars like these that has Mr Macaroni pushing Barra for a merger. He’s a bean counter with a legacy of shit like this that can’t be polished. People buy them because they see it as a flexing their ability to choose. Really people are buying because incomes are flat; if your boss gave you a raise would you really

More cars simulating what used to be good about cars. So over it.

This isn’t a buyer’s guide; you’ve asserted that the eco is the one to go for based on a limited set of criteria that makes no attempt to understand a buyer’s needs.
