All sorts of unsafe happy times to be had with that car. Just looking at it being one of them. But maybe I'm strange...Is anyone else getting kind of a pseudo steam punk vibe off this thing?
@Feds: You also forgot to mention the pluses of: you already have a heavy duty frame, and you aren't limited by aerodynamics OR aesthetics! Definitely a perfect application for electrics. No more going deaf mowing the lawn. Heck you can listen to ye olde mp3 player while you silently clip away!
@Ash78: Like I said, a few days ago (before the holiday price gouging) when I filled the Mini, it was the same or 5 cents under 87. Been that way for awhile here. Still, if it's within 10 cents of 87, the increased mpg would be easily worth it.
...Diesel is cheaper than 87... atleast it was a few days ago when I looked... here in Missouri. Now give me my sub 6second 0-60 Jag Diesel please.
Still waiting for, "What was your 1st AMC product?"
If the vengeance works anywhere close to the way they say it will, umm yeah, small cars going VERY fast should be very easy. And yay for a rotary style motor with the potential to be reliable!
@Jeb_Hoge: A peanut
Ok, so maybe our UK readers can answer this for me. Why is it that there is this overwhelming attitude of resentment towards high end (and usually very flashy) cars in the UK? I mean Clarkson has spoken about one of his cars (a Ferrari cabriolet of some sort) getting spat on, and all 3 of the top gear guys have made…
Talk about believing in the mantra, "Go big, or go home".
Does it bother anyone else that with only a couple exceptions, no one in that group drives an enthusiast's vehicle? There is a Mini S, the 67 Vette, and (arguably) the Peugeot. To me this is almost more frightening. Granted there are some good quality vehicles in there, but ummm, could we atleast have a group of…
Hmmm, lets see. Instead of having one appointed individual, who would most likely have not real knowledge of the auto industry, we will instead, have a group of people with a similar lack of knowledge. Oh and they'll want to be green, so no more better performing tires for you mister enthusiast.
Hmmm, yeah, it looks the same basically. What it really needs though, is a turbo diesel 4cyl like they can spec in the UK. The trucks have never been quick movers, so I doubt it would hurt 0-60 times, but the increase in torque and mpg would probably be VERY popular. Heck, it might actually sell well even!
I have this [interfacelift.com] in 1680x1050 on mine. Not my picture p.s. But very nice none the less.
@A strolling player can't find Waldo: Aye, I miss my 85 5spd car in black. Bought it out of Oklahoma. The ONLY cosmetic issues were the usual paint fade on the front grill and the spoiler. Then of course, the leather seats were cracked to hell and back. Otherwise, it all looked good. Now as for the mechanical...…
@Feds: Agree I do with you on the assessment of Mr. Horney. The BEST I have seen out of our Econoline (mix of mostly city, and city probably 70/30) is 11mpg give or take a tenth. My boss has seen as high as 12 in the summer with a much lighter route. The start stop traffic, high weight and many a cold start is…
Considering my current company work vehicle is an E-150 that gets MAYBE 12mpg, these numbers sound good, especially if its in a package thats more traffic friendly and more in line with our actual size needs. Now if only it were diesel so we could start using some of our waste product to run the damn thing.
Any possibility of getting this one, [jalopnik.com] in 1680x1050? Would make a GREAT wallpaper.
Now I long for the Speed Channel of old, that would play things like this. Thank you YouTube!
@Mike the Dog: Followed up by the 2012 Gremlin. Comes in 4cyl diesel, inline 6cyl, and v8 flavors.
