There may be lighter and faster... but I think if I had the $$ I'd buy this over alot of things. It may just make it to my dream garage of an F40, Koenigsegg(any of them)and now the Doonkervoort D8 GT4. Throw in a Spyker C8 just for good measure.

@FuzzyPlushroom: Touche sir. Touche.
@PatFromGundo: ...wait, if you're spending 1.5mil, you just get a giant model made of carbon fiber instead of die-cast steel? Sounds like a waste of money to me. Give me tainted automotive bliss that I can drive, over the giant toy in a glass case.
I'd say the mpg numbers are possible. I mean, my beat to hell Gremlin, with the 4.2 (258, FTW!) would get about 21-22 on the high way with a putzy chrysler 904 3spd auto. Oh and when I got rid of the car, everything worked (including the 1976 A/C) EXCEPT the chrysler transmission.
@Stoatmaster: And you drive it everyday too, I would imagine. And as you said, MANY more things to go wrong. Not to mention, 40+ years of parts buildup, development, and such. And no Audi/VW markup. ;-)
@Stoatmaster: Aside from tires and basics like oil change, probably not much. And this would likely be something you get collectors car insurance on, which can be extremely low. So if you've got the 40k, and drive it (not daily I would assume since gas mileage is more than likely BARELY in the double digit range)…
Considering the 426 wedge is still and incredibly desirable engine, and the cost to restore this car would exceed the asking price by a fair bit, I'd say its a great deal. Good looking car, Paint and panel fitment that is NOT built back to factory original is a massive plus. Really, anyone ever SEEN or experiance…
@FormerlyPreferredCustomer: Yup, brilliant isn't he? Notice to that he proclaimed that Apple killed record companies and CDs with the invention of iTunes.... And that no one buys paper books anymore because we all have Kindles.
@Bob1967: Sounds very similar to our term "fucktard". A nice change of pace though it would be.
A basement Lambo it isn't, but equally as cool. Well done Sir. Well done.
@harumph: probably not. Oh well. Bit late to change it. Do get slightly irritated at those on the coasts considering themselves above the rest of the country.
@Jokermanpaco: Damn lack of an edit button, "Functional, not function"
@alowishus: Hmmm, I live in that space between the two coasts, and yet I've seen a dramatic reduction in the number of SUV's and pickups I see on the road.
Wow... and here I am just having bought a used, but much newer, car that gets BETTER gas mileage. Oh well. Atleast I'll be able to afford to drive my Mini Cooper S when the prices start heading north again.
@TheGuinnessTooth: You want a batshit insane name... how about Turbo Midget? And he was an honest to god classmate of mine. Granted a few months back, my buddy that works for the Sheriff's department saw him, and the rest of his family, in lock up.
These are the top ten... even if done by traffic, tis still a less than impressive showing.
...Me thinks a class action suit could be a good way to make some money off of Toyota if they press this issue of no more owner generated material.
The correction started earlier than the biggest slide in the economy. The Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale was a MUCH more reasonable display of actual value than it ever has been. No longer are all 70 chevelles worth upper 5 figure to low 6 figure range. Just because its a mopar, does not mean its going to buy you a…
@British_Looks_British_Reliabil...: Actually pretty simple, just takes a second. Most Highways are under built for their current traffic load. Even if people are driving less overall, they aren't, NOT driving to work. So with people keeping driving to the necessities, (work, groceries, etc) then that means less…
Lamborghini has always been the "...just needs one more warp thruster pod and it'll be perfect" company. All this needs as a sedan, is one more warp thruster.
