Really good points. I do think that there is merit to the idea that we need to shock people into caring about each other. I worry about “death for clicks” though. Yeah, this footage is 1/2 mile away on a dashcam. But, it’s capturing the death of six people (plus the one on the ground).

We’ve got the bubble-headed bleach blonde, comes on at five.

I’d go to your TED Talk.

Do we (as a society of media consumers and producers) really need to show 6 people dying?

I get that “it’s not a Mustang because it doesn’t have two doors”, sure. But to actively decide to not buy an objectively good vehicle based on the name doesn’t compute for me. If you hate the car, just hate the car. If it’s a bad vehicle, be pissed at Ford for making a bad vehicle. But, this is just a name.

First and foremost: not judging, you do you.

I need 500 km of range and fast charging. We regularly drive 575 km to visit family. In our Crosstrek that’s a no-stops trip; get in the car at 5:00 pm and arrive at 10:30pm with lots of gas in the tank.

I don’t think the RS6 is a gamble. I think that’s a for-sure future classic. It’s rare, powerful, and inherently cool. I’ve seen five RS6s on the street in the last two years. I see 911s, M2s, and AMGs on a daily basis.

$1.5 billion worth of cars or $1.5 billion in sales of cars that were worth a few hundred million dollars?

Why would anyone give a shit about anything that Elon-the-Nazi wants?

Give it another week or two and you’ll get a sea of oranges and reds with the leaves changing colour.

Found the Nazi.

To paraphrase Catherine Rampell: Fucking do it. Go out and Nazi salute your weirdo, sycophantic, Musk-blowing buddies. Puhleeezzzeeee go out in public and throw a Nazi salute. See how that goes for you.

The parkway is such a beautiful drive. I try to do it at least once each year. Late spring is spectacular - before the tourists and RVs get there.

I don’t drink at home by myself anymore. I can’t handle the dog looking disappointed in me.

Here in Central Alberta clouds get seeded all the time. Millions in crop damage and crop insurance is saved every year. There’s hard science and financial data to back up the practice.

Yep. As cool as this may be, these guys are out of my viewing rotation until Russia pulls its head out of its ass.

As I understand it (and I’m not an aerodynamicist, but I have reached out to one and am waiting for an email back), they’re flying faster than the speed of sound at ground level. They’re supersonic. Because of the wind assist, what they are not doing is creating the pressure wave that creates a sonic boom. The two

This 2013 WRX STi is $26,500CAD (so under your $25,000USD budget), has incredibly low milage at 81,500km or just over 50,000 miles, and according to the seller it’s bone stock so likely hasn’t been trashed by a vaping flatbiller.
