It’s National Bike Day here in Canada. Or, for people like me, Friday. I ride most days (and walk the others), and I have a steep hill to go up on my ride home. I’d love this contraption in my city.

Bike commuting to work and school, making deliveries on a cargo bike, messengering, transporting your kids via bike, getting groceries, going to classes, going out with friends... not a hobby. Americans (as a whole, I know there are daily cyclists there) don’t understand that societies can exist without everyone…
Honestly, this title should have been “747's Protective Systems Worked to Save Planeload of Passengers.”
We go back to Vancouver a few times a year. If we drive there, we park the car and don’t touch it for a week. Bussing, skytrain, seabus, they’re all amazing. Proper transit is such a gift.
A beige and white Toyota FJ40. I’m 53 years old. My wife and I live a very adventurous life. Our kids are grown and out of the house so we don’t need to haul kid stuff anymore. I don’t need to go fast, I just need to be able to go anywhere.
That’s great. I love that Arnie Cunningham is painted on as the driver. Well done.
Damn, that’s cool. Nice job.
And a fourth
I can’t help but think you got a bad one. My father-in-law had three Mazda 6s. They were zippy, firm, cornered well, and were generally as fun to drive as a mid-priced passenger car could be.
Or, do both. I have a 2022 Crosstrek. It’s my stable, reliable, convenient, do-it-all car.
Jesus H Christ. That was perfect. I read it in Colbert’s Trump voice.
FOUR GRAND!!!??? You could pick up a 10-year-old one in the ‘80s for $250. I know for a fact there’s one in my uncle’s garage. He’ll be thrilled.
Prime numbers, man.
The best sight I ever saw from my car was an act of social kindness.
The Crosstrek should have an asterix beside the time. That’s the engine hp and time for the small motor. The 2.5l has 185 hp and a 7.8 second 0-60.
Stupid. I grew up on Vancouver Island and in the Vancouver lower mainland. Most people keep their boats in their driveways, at least seasonally.
The City of Seaside where you can’t have your boat on your driveway. Seaside
ACAB
I can’t find the quote, but didn’t Kimi call the 360 “an understeering piece of shit.”?
I am so firmly on Team Whale. I remember roughly 25 years ago, a cruise ship hit a fin whale and dragged it into Vancouver harbour. Nobody noticed until the dockworkers were securing the mooring ropes.
