Confidence is such an odd, elusive quality in a man. Men who have it usually exploit it to maximum dickishness. And men who don't have it can spend years banging their heads against the wall to figure out how to get it.

As a POC, I'm always baffled by other POCs' inability to empathize with the LGBT movement. Can anyone explain the disconnect?
Agreed. And this was a supposed "super fan" too, in that he attended all Texas Tech games, home and away. So, on the face of it, a white guy calling a black guy something insulting is bad enough. Add to it that it's an older white male calling a 20-year old something derogatory and it gets worse. THEN add, on top of…
If this text from Orr is true, and it's obviously too early to establish whether it is or not, I'd be surprised if Orr considered "piece of crap" to be too far... as he implies:
If the insult hurler properly pronounced "Côte d’Ivoire" in it's official French tongue, I (as the insult recipient) would be more impressed than hurt.
I wish I'd calmed you down. I was at USC during Pete's ascent and it was amusing (and satisfying, in retrospect) watching the Seattle media (and comments in the Seattle Times and PI) react with the same skepticism USC boosters and the LA sports media did when USC first hired Carroll, only to be slowly won over and…
I think it's important to reconsider why a new coach would be successful as a retread when they weren't successful before. Both Carroll and Belichick, in their second go-rounds, were given much more flexibility with regard to personnel.
In fact he is both coach and de facto GM. Seattle's GM is John Schneider, who's put as much work into constructing that roster as any other GM, but ultimately he reports to Pete who hired him and has final sign-off on all personnel moves.
Yeah, I'm a 'Hawks fan and in no way whatsoever did Kaepernick crap out. If anything, he's the one QB who would've stood a (very good) shot against Seattle on Sunday.
Yeah, you can't really be overrated when you win a Super Bowl. (Let alone, the numerous leadership stories on his résumé; my favorite being how he drove overnight in his moving RV from NC State to Wisconsin, and when Brett Bielema showed up at the practice field the next morning, Russ was parked at the entrance…
Oh sweet! Yes, I totally forgot about the need-for-a-couch-cable. In retrospect, the 3 ft. Apple cords really seem to be convenient for, roughly, nothing.
You're totally right. And as an added thing, I find it ironic people are up in arms about her current BMI being slightly under normal, whereas before, when her BMI was meaningfully above normal... that was accepted.
The lightning cable deal is undoubtedly a good one, but I thought I'd chime in on behalf of anyone else who likes browsing their iPhones in bed but are restricted come charging time since the cables are SO short.
And it took them awhile!
Yeah, this is like the intersection of all he finds holy.*
I don't doubt that Seattle fans are extra hostile to Niner fans and vice versa. However, I went incognito as a Packers fan as a favor to my friend — a lifelong Packers guy — who bought tickets for last year's 49ers-Packers divisional playoff game. I got everything from being shoved to being called "faggot," etc. etc.…
And I've been harassed plenty of times by fans at Candlestick. However, after having committed some neurons to the subject, I've decided the blame here lies with alcohol mixed with emotion rather than anything uniquely endemic to Niner fans.
He also walked into the stadium with a bottle of Dom (which he then opened and sprayed on Russell Wilson and the Lombardi Trophy) and a tribal drum (which he then banged during video highlights of the Super Bowl).
Agreed. Also, it's already a pain in the ass enough not to be hungover on Sunday mornings. Why extend that to Saturday?
Yeah, it's really impressive when you see Sherman show off he actually knows what route the receiver's going to run.
