IIRC, Doolittle walked this back almost immediately, saying it was “a joke”. Conspiracy theorists like myself assume MLB/the Nationals organization was not happy with it and made him walk it back, esp since it’s essentially a charity drive and Doolittle is good people who wouldn’t joke about that sort of thing.

IIRC, didn’t a lot of studios threaten to drop the show? There was a remote segment where he visited some city where the show aired at like 4AM to find fans of his show. I think they ended up in a football stadium watching the show on the big screen.

This is probably the “randoms satellite TV station” skit I think about the most.
