It is not possible for them to not use GAAP via the SEC/audit rules.

I did a case study on the guy. He’s smart. Very smart. His vision is beyond a lot of people. It should be exciting for the big companies because its a completely knew arena to play in that you can charge big premiums. Why wouldn’t you get excited by that.

There are a lot of assumptions right? A lot...

But that’s exactly what the big 3 are thinking. We can. We can. We can. They can’t. They can’t. They can’t. But they are. And they’re becoming successful at it. Sooooo...

It’s group think ego. I’m in finance and I see it all the time. We lost a bid because we refused to go any cheaper. Our CEO’s opinion was “how could anyone do it cheaper than us” and “why would they?” All while I’m sitting in the corner saying.. yeah. ok.

I get what you’re saying but you’re making some pretty aggressive assumptions on 401k returns. I think for most people, assuming a 5% return is pretty steep in this day and age, in which case, does not make sense to take the penalty.

That is a pretty standard story-line when you massively over extend yourself.

That isn’t even remotely a viable metaphor. Not. even. close.

OK yes. They’re bringing over Vauxhall’s over and slapping a Buick badge on them. But it’s all platform sharing. It’s all cheap design/manufacturing for GM. It doesn’t change my argument.

I have this feeling you don’t know what I’m talking about. You think what I’m saying is a bad thing. It’s not at all. It’s a good thing actually.

Platforms my friend. I’m not talking sheet metal. Sheet metal design is cheap. The platforms that underpin these cars... that’s expensive.

Chevy. Opel. It’s all a cut from the same loaf.

That was then. This is now.

I disagree. There are still a TON of people who go to autoshows. Of all ages. And concept booths are still the areas you see the biggest crowds. This Buick had quite the crowd in Chicago.

Nope. Fast track to old GM town. Because people like you will be fine with it at first. But then bitch because you can’t get more than 300hp.

From GM’s perspective, it can’t cost that much to take a Chevy and make it a Buick and sell at a premium. I have no problem with it.

Nope. That’s what Caddie is for. Anything other is just old GM.

No, Caddie is RWD and that’s the way it should be.

He was not overtaking a van. He moved in right behind it after the crash!

Incorrect. He had plenty of space to move over. The lead car in the left is a typical “I can drive in whatever lane I want when I want.” Or, “People shouldn’t be going that face anyways.”
