"In quotes" has entered the vernacular, and is as such proper. Various style guides and references specifically say "in quotes".

But, again, Gold is not a requirement, in any sense. Discounted copies of Windows for those with an .edu email address are obviously intended for students, and though it's not illegal it is definitely not "perfectly legitimate".

Hi-gain microphones. Don't turn one on and hold it towards your torso, you won't want to eat for days.

Ja wohl. I just have to account for horrible luck, and in that regard, consoles are far easier—less to go wrong, you see.

That, I did not know.

Oh, I've had bad luck with consoles too. Six PS2s failed in 10 years, and lost about a dozen controllers, and memory cards get corrupted that you can't format. But still, the time cost is far less, and with today's consoles, you can pull out your HDD and just buy a new (or used) console, plug it in, and you're done.

It's dishonest. An OS is required to do anything on a PC, Gold is not. You can get it for cheap if you're a student, otherwise you're cheating. I don't give a crap about the cost of Steam games—the cost of entry is much higher, and the knowledge too much for some.

Now playing

This is the video of the bit where someone is tapping/plinking physically on a Gameboy to make music. It was not in the credits of the vid for some reason.

Yeah, I'd assumed that. And each and every component needs a driver that needs updating from time to time. Sometimes though, the new drivers break something critical, or don't work together. Sometimes you need to do rollbacks and the like—if you knew enough to set them up.

I agree. It should be the case in every online MMO style game that requires a server to run it that once it's shut down, they hand over the keys to let people host their own. Shutting it down, and keeping the keys, is just selfish.

You can buy an extended warranty for a 360 for $25 a year for two years—giving you complete coverage for 3 years from any failure.

So you only have Flash and a GPU in your system? Wow, talk about bare-bones.

Yeah, try again. I took two years of vocational schooling in PC Maintenance and Repair. I know exactly how expensive computers can be, and how much time and hassle they can take.

1) You were lucky to have a friend

Do we need consoles? YES

Again, not disagreeing with you. But "likely" is not the same as "easy".

I don't have the mental faculties to even contemplate the idea of "I wanna re-name myself after people all know me by one name, and I'm famous". Sean Combs started it—and he's gone progressively dumber with names since.

"Lazy thinking vs empricism".

No, we can't predict that—and honestly fools, morons, fearmongers and simple greed will stand in the way.

Okay—can someone please explain to me how a Dyson SWARM will still orbit a star, but a Dyson SPHERE would lose its orbit and collide with its star?
