The Deadspin Staff wouldn’t put themselves on the list.

I have watched girls and women play soccer my whole life, and I have never seen anyone even try to beat the keeper from half.

Super progressive deadspin writers are allowed to say shit like this, but if it was anyone else these same writers would be crucifying whoever said it. Also love Howard’s insistence on a couple “fucks” per article. Feels like a jr. High kid trying to get a giggle from his friends

I agree the NFL is a model of parody.

That’s true. At first I was like, “Oh, isn’t that old be become a boxer”. Then I remembered the entire point of the Rocky movies so it makes more sense.

Are we pretending Rocky Balboa wasn’t pretty good now? I mean, it’s not great, but it’s pretty good for the 5th movie in a series.

Except, that they say exactly this about this guy’s looks and his mannerisms all the time.

No, but see, it only matters when people talk about women’s appearances because this is Gawker Media.

Male soccer players never care what they look like on the pitch!!!!!

It’s about the fact that the union does not hold much power at all compared to the other major sports leagues, and the NFL is constantly trying to diminish it by taking power that should be negotiated for and acting as if it arbitrarily is in the NFL’s power to do so.

Simplest rule for reclining.

When a tournament’s governing body expressly admits to rigging the structure in order to, at best, lure in a few more attendees and their wallets to the stadiums or, at worst, give preferred teams easier routes to victory, this is a thing nobody interested in the competition itself should let slide idly by.

Bob Costas is the worst. He embodies everything wrong with sports journalism. Unless and until he’s excelled at anything athletic, I’m really not interested in what he has to say about sports. I can only hope he’s asked his ancestors for forgiveness.

If there’s two things we know about Michael Jordan, it’s that he likes to gamble and is bad at it.

I get that Big Frank is a crap pick at nine, but nothing in those articles actually hints to it being massive, other than them calling it "Massive". An unprotected pick would likely be in the same range as the number 9, in possibly a worse draft. Again Frank was likely the wrong pick, but more information is needed to

We have to keep digging! Since Leinart’s involved, odds are the story’s still incomplete.

To be fair most every enterprise or venture Leinhart is involved in will be non-profit.

Warner brothers did it correctly with the Looney tunes DVD set.

Two sports out of em all? He agrees more than disagrees.
