Nailed it. That’s it, that’s all. <3

I’m most definitely in the camp that’s hard-pressed to feel sorry for the Komen Foundation. They’ve distorted breast cancer — the disease and the experience — beyond all measure and have indulged in the most egregious forms of “pink-washing”, year after year after year.

Plenty of Canadians are quite fond of Bernie Sanders, too.

Now playing

If you fast-forward to the 4:00 minute mark on this video, you can get a sense of how cut-the-crap Bernie Sanders is. (It was during a U.S. senate hearing debating American-versus-Canadian healthcare).

Nah, Bieber actually did “do school” and even earned his high school leaving certificate from St. Michael’s Catholic in Stratford, but he did most of it — the final 3-4 years — via online study. He didn’t attend his graduation ceremony, though, which was probably for the best, potential media circus-wise.

Texas is safe..... for now. I’m 99.9% sure that pic relates to Alberta, the Calgary Stampede to be more precise.

Seconded. Strongly so. I’m going with my gut instinct which is outright rejecting this bit of “iconography-appropriation”.

I would not be surprised at all if someone else said it. But they’ve been deleting stuff like crazy even before this was posted to the Jez mainpage (I got wind of it via Jezebel Twitter). Case in point: this thread. Blam. Poof. Gone!

Gah! You beat me to it. It’s okay, though, as it needed to be said. ;=)

Don’t know if it’ll ring any bells but Morrissey was the lead singer of The Smiths, until he went solo. Despite his having turned into a royal pain in the ass, their music is incredibly enduring, still popular today.

I hear ya. Neither of those two do it for me, musically. At least with Morrissey, there’s a pretty unique and sometimes amazing music catalogue to fall back on — especially with The Smiths — whenever he’s being a pompous git.

Agreed. It’s the least offensive observation Morrissey’s made in a dog’s age, so I can’t fault him..... this time around.

It’s a pretty terrible headline, alright. Indefensible, really, and I say that as someone who doesn’t have much use for Bobby Brown.

Damn right. Plus, I couldn’t believe how blasé Mila came across in making that number 1-versus-number 2 distinction. If those were her precise words, that’s verging on obnoxious.

Stars, they’re human beings, when all is said and done. (Well, most of them).

I figured that had to be what Hugh Laurie was referencing. It’s actually a pretty clever tweet on his part.

That’s a good way of putting it. It was always easy to take a swipe at the Ed Hardy look but this news is just plain saddening and sobering.

Although I definitely agree with the line of thought running through this thread — even a few years ago, all those body-shaming comments would have been dismissed by Jez writers or moderators — there’s still something fishy about pinning the blame on cancer-suppression medication.

Ever since he grew a beard, I’ve noticed a passing resemblance to King George V, who was the current Queen’s grandfather. At any rate, James Middleton’s definitely more striking-looking with facial hair.
