Something tells me you're a more charitable person than me, at least when it comes to Stephen Harper. The mere mention of his name and my heart turns to stone with my eyes becoming coldly focussed on October 19th, 2o15. ;=)

I think she would have said "Canadian teen" or "Canadian student." Definitely not schoolgirl.
The risks of a VBA3C are exponentially higher than stated in this (incredibly irresponsible) post. I don't know of any OB who would go along with a vaginal birth after 3 C-sections, it is SO risky for both mom and baby.
Yeah, I'm kind of on the side of the ladies who think that maybe VBA3C is not a hugely great idea. I definitely wouldn't do it. I'm pro-VBAC (this despite my aunt nearly dying from a uterine rupture as a result), but after three? The risks are higher than stated here. And I'm just guessing that planned c-section…
What I get from this: No woman gave it up for Schopenhauer. His balls were very blue.
And they've actually found recently that once you control for age, that correlation completely goes away. Here's an interesting article on it: http://m.theatlantic.com/health/archive…
Here's the thing, though: people use those statistics as a way to stigmatize and further marginalize a population that faces those issues due to intergenerational trauma (as opposed to some intrinsic quality that predisposes them to poverty or alcoholism). The problem is a societal one but is typically seen as a way…
A lot of the tribes who the headdresses are based on crossed the US/Canadian border, since, you know, there wasn't a border for most of the tribes' existence, but the ones that are most commonly associated with it seem to be mostly located in the US. I really think the real phrasing is because the author is American,…
That's great, but I have a few issues here:
Heads up—In BC most of us prefer to be called First Nations, Indigenous or by our band name. Example: Basscoast is in Merritt this year, which is Nicola First Nations territory.
This is not entirely accepted, though. Some will argue that the term originated from an oppressive government document and therefore is still a label of the oppressor.
But that's just the Hudson's Bay Company; ripping off First Nations for 350 years.
Great post Kelly but this is in BC, not the US. Native American is the wrong term.
In Canada, they refer to the "Native Americans" as the First Nations - which I think is a much better term...
No, no. This is the BEST reason to be an English teacher! I teach college students but nothing would be more fun that writing, "who?" or "try again" all over that paragraph.
Isha: Can you clarify the title? It reads as if Lee killed his own wife, not his "alleged/supposed" girlfriend. Also, who is in the picture, the suspect, the victim or both?
We say it to irritate people from San Fran.
Look, I've never been married, but I'm pretty sure most couples' "shadow wedding" is also known as "planning the goddamn wedding."
Actually Canada has a low population compared to land mass - but that's another discussion.
