It wasn’t until Forza 5 that I really could get a handle on cockpit driving - most of the other games (including Forza Horizons 1&2) have been arcadey enough that I needed chase cam.

Mass Effect is already on the Backwards Compatibilty table and works pretty well, although capturing video with “Xbox Record That” clips the right 1/4 of the video.

The USB port will charge the Microsoft rechargeable battery pack, similar to the old Play and Charge kit. It will also run the controller without batteries in a pinch.
