Hey keep it up! Maybe if you put up a few more (free pr) non-stories Hogan will drop his lawsuit. I wouldn’t. But maybe he will.

Brooke Hogan’s Grill

It’s interesting to me that people who easily see gender as a construct see race as somehow essentialist. Race is also a construct; the idea of race as we perceive it (i.e. related to a geographic genetic heritage) is pretty recent, and some have argued, came about to justify European colonialism/slave trade.

From a news article I read, I was under the impression that it all started when she applied to Howard University with a portfolio art exclusively featuring African-American subject matter. Apparently they presumed that she was black, and gave her a full ride. So, her original intention might not have been to say she

... but. she didn’t grow up facing discrimination or being held back because of her skin color.

“Officer, I didn’t know I couldn’t do that?”

She can be both not-lying about feeling black and still be lying about actually being black. We have no way to judge the first, but there seems to be a pretty strong case on the second.

It looks like a print ad for cigarettes or dishwashing liquid from 1972.

sorry i really cannot look at this picture without laughing

I am pretty white. When I had my dna tested by 23andme.com they said my ancestors left Africa only 50,000 years ago so I guess we are all black. Anyway I love telling my racist relatives the results of my test. I just leave out the part about 50,000 years. Money very well spent if you ask this broke ass teacher.

I mean, maybe it’s because I know she’s white, but... really? Y’all didn’t catch this? You couldn’t tell?

braid extensions.

Yeah, I found that odd as well. Like they just showed up at the newsroom with some old and current photos of thier daughter like “Wanna hear some weird shit?”

Does anybody know why her mom decided to call this out now? I can't find an answer and the question unsettles me...

I couldn’t help myself but remember the ending of “White Chicks”, and the reaction of LaTrell when he finds the white girl whe like was actually a... Black.

Now THAT is one hell of a weave.

To be fair, I think if a person speaks from a place of privilege, it is more vital that they speak egalitarian messages. If privilege necessarily provides power, then using that power to remove the asymmetry of privilege (that is, to provide your power to the oppressed) cannot really be a bad thing, can it?

Sweet Baby Jesus! There is nothing to be sorry for. This is the most hilariously, bizarre, fuckery EVER! I need to know EVERYTHING about this loony Broad.

I’m just over here like “I have no idea what you do with my hands.”
