Yeah, I’m a bit confused. When I read “wandering around” I pictured them walking like zombies and suffering from amnesia or something. But the story itself made it seem like they happened to be found from their hiding by a clerk. That’s not so scary.

I was going to make a similar comment. “Wandering” has very specific connotations that are not at all evident in this story.

What would they be charged with? They didn’t ask law enforcement to involve itself, and the mother was the custodial parent of the child. Truancy, maybe? But other than that, it was kind of nobody’s business.

What charges could possibly be filed? They don’t have any legal obligation to stay in touch with family members or whoever.

From the story above, there doesn’t seem there was anything illegal done — it’s not a crime to go on vacation and turn off your phone and not log into Facebook, and Costello isn’t the one who called authorities, or gave anyone any false information — so not sure why your surprised that no charges are being filed.

Tell me allllllll about it.

My friend and I talk a lot about our “living wills” and I always tease her because she is under the impression that a bizarre dying wish is basically law, haha.

Well that’s going to be a super awkward Thanksgiving.

Fine, but I draw the line at the soul patch.

Well this just opens up a whole new world of obituary possibilities.

Thanks, but I’m just about done taking political advice from dead white guys.

My thoughts on this, too.

Maybe it’s not that they allow more space, but that they take longer to get pregnant? Or, possibly, that since they are older they are (possibly) more highly educated and know it’s better to space?

Pretty sure this is directly tied to lack of paid maternity leave. If your income is going to take a hit for having infants, better to get all the rough years over with at once. I guess you could argue that longer spacing = more time to save up for the next baby, but we all know Americans suck at saving no matter

Same reason why people choose to work with Woody Allen. When you’re talented and make material that is guaranteed to make people rich, the fucked up shit you do in your private life doesn’t matter.

Isn’t this the guy that molested his transgender niece? The guy that “nice guy” George Clooney punched out on the set of “Three Kings”? The guy that Lily Tomlin lost her shit at? WHY do people continue to make movies with him, and why do people continue to throw money at him to fund said movies?

Yep.

You have to have the right permits, heating/cooling conditions, etc, so’s you don’t accidentally kill people. But I hear ya.

Let’s clarify something real quick: The ticket was for serving food out of a van that was NOT the food truck she usually brings (which has all the proper permits). The ticket was NOT for serving food to the homeless.
