Im always bothered by the idea that one cannot express an opinion on something theyve never experienced, much less something they HAVE experienced. Not that I agree with his tweets, they seem odd and pointless and unprovable.

I've been raped by a stranger and I've been date raped. Date rape was MUCH less bad, because I DIDN'T THINK I WAS GOING TO DIE. In fact, it was so much less bad that it was hard for me to conceive of it as rape for a long time (because the stranger rape happened first). So, uh, I guess I'm not seeing what the

Threatening someone with a knife to make them do something against their will is a crime in itself, and likely to be traumatic to the person threatened. It doesn't matter whether the person holding the knife wants sex or money or something else altogether. You can make a pretty good argument that someone threatened

The fact that you say "as a man who has not been raped" is so, so comical. You just said in this very article that he was sexually assaulted as a child. This is a post about there being no degrees of sexual assault in which you imply that there are, in fact, degrees of sexual assault when it is convenient for you.

Some kinds of assault are more violent and painful than others. How is that hard to understand? Being stroked on the leg by an old man on the subway is probably not as bad as being gang-raped by 6 guys at 2 in the morning in some foreign country. Who could deny that?

No, he is explaining basic logic using a terribly bad example.

He tends to be crass and annoys more people than he convinces. That said, every crime has varying degrees, so I can see his point.
If I said: second degree murder is bad, first degree murder is worse. That is not an endorsement of second degree murder. Is that incorrect?

Oh Richard, I thought we'd agreed that you would lay off the subject, what with the whole elevatorgate debacle....

oh no! Idol falling, falling hard! it's ok, I just tweeted at him to stop talking because he's an old white dude, I'm sure he'll listen.

I misread the headline and thought I was jumping into a post about Richard Dawkins manscaping.

I'm hitting my limit of hearing about other people's vacations. I wish there was a Facebook filter I could install so I don't have to see anyone's trip to the beach or Disney World. I'm poor.

For me it was the 47% thing that pushed me over the edge. Before that he was just the guy I wasn't going to vote for. After that, he was the guy who made it clear he had no intention of doing anything that supported me or people like me. He would just shake the hands of his cronies. That's when I joined the pile-on.

Being cool and holding dangerous and offensive social views are mutually exclusive. It saddens me that so many people are quick to forget what a cretin someone is just because of a few vacuous still shots of smiley time with the grandkids.

It's akin to George W Bush finding painting. If only both of them had found their true callings sooner.

Fuck him. If he was ACTUALLY a great grandfather, or even a decent human being, he would give two shits about the world he is leaving for his grandchildren. Male and female.

yes, he is the best kind.

Yeah, easy to be a good grandpa when you've retired after making a king's random doing leveraged buyouts and liquidations of companies. I'll bet there are a few grandpas who would love to spend more time with the kids but are instead spending their golden years as Walmart greeters after their jobs were liquidated by

Romney is what happens when good people who just want to help get turned into bad candidates by a party run by insane people.

Oh sure. He's a cool guy. As long as you're a member of his family.
