I think she was just making a joke about a particular episode of last season, not actually being frustrated.

both

I can’t tell if this post is serious. I tend to read basically everything on Grantland, even if I’m not super interested in the topic, but Hyden seems pretty awful. I think its partially because its impossible to be a music critic without sounding like an asshole, but I think the other part is that he just sucks.

I agree. The other thing I admire about Simmons was his passion. I often rolled my eyes about the things he was passionate about (he and I have vastly different taste when it comes to moves, music and television) but I respected the fact that there were things he really cared deeply about.

I listened to that entire episode and it wsa fantastic! It also made me realize that I do not value my time.

I love the Mays and Barnwell football podcast. It hits that sweet spot of informed yet silly that is perfect for sport commentary.

Shea Serrano is probably my favorite writer out of anyone right now. And I believe he’s written some stuff for the Gawkerverse.

I think it is more of a case of it being impossible to be the guy who replaces a popular and charismatic founder. I know “founder’s syndrome” is when the gravitational pull of a founder hurts a non-profit or business, but I don’t what the term is for when you replace a huge founder.

Greg, have you heard anything about future plans for Lowe or Barnwell? I suppose the sports people probably have a little more security as ESPN, but as “Simmons guys,” they may not want to stick around when their contracts are up either.

And Barnwell.

Have I missed the article about Cowherd leaving the mothership, or is the staff getting drunk from celebrating?

I don’t suppose it is possible Simmons could try to recreate the site with much of the same staff somewhere else? I guess you have to find another owner with money to burn and the willingness to let Simmons do his thing. I’m sure there are plenty of people willing to give ESPN the middle finger, but at what price?

Please hire Zach Lowe and Jonah Keri

Yeah, the panel shown in this very article (“so we’re agreed. It’s Robin and Batman from now on” is one of my favorite things in any Batman comic ever.

I know DC wasn’t about to keep it that way forever... but I could have used at least a few more years of Dick and Damien fighting crime together as Batman and Robin. It was the freshest and most enjoyable the book had been in AGES.

Have you ever heard, “it’s about the journey, not the destination?”

This bear was THOUGHTFUL. He didn't eat the strawberry rhubarb because that would be RUDE. Everyone knows strawberry rhubarb is the best pie.

The Dick Grayson / Damian Wayne stuff was Batman at its best in like 20 years. No seriously, take away Bruce’s grimdark brooding that has marred the title for so long, and you have a comic book that deftly juggles light and dark while still telling complex stories and depicting a complex (arguably more complex)

Long distance can work but it will vary from relationship to relationship. Overall, most won’t make it. I know mine didn’t especially being 8 hours away.

For the whole duration of our relationship, my girlfriend has said that she misses him, how he was the funniest, he understood her, always wanted to do things with her, is so similar to her and how the summer before we started dating with him was the best and she misses it as well.
