The young filmmaker who did THX-1138 is almost unrecognizable. Vastly ahead of it’s time, surreal, meaningful, with an amazing performance. Easily my favorite Film.

I truly liked Radioland Murders. I could’ve backed more projects like that. I certainly enjoyed the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles as well, though he generally wrote stories rather than directing them.

There was 15 years between trilogies where Lucas didn’t come up with too much that was especially scintillating. I like Willow, but most people don’t class it as being all that great in its genre, let alone just as a movie. Ditto... it’s not OMGawesome, but it’s a really good movie.

It was nominated for the best picture Academy Award and is preserved in the National Film Registry. It’s better than just “ok.”

I’m currently on a re-read. I’ve always kind of visualized Roland Deschain as looking like - a younger - Iain Glen.

Hall effect thrusters get a specific impulse (roughly speaking, fuel efficiency) of up to around 8000s, which is roughly 25 times that of a chemical rocket, not 100 million times. I don’t know where they’re getting 100 million times less fuel from.
