That’s pretty much what I do too, except I play my Switch games on my desktop PC because it provides vastly superior image quality and performance. The Switch hardware is hot garbage and struggles to run games at 1080p30.

Pretty sure the Nathan Drake Collection consisted of remasters, not emulated versions, of the PS3 games. They ran at 60 FPS, 4k, etc.

I assume you’re referring to PC DRM which would have been irrelevant to console users. In 2013, the console market was still primarily physical and the XBO’s proposed DRM would have reduced the perceived benefits of physical media.

The attention drawn to Yuzu being able to run these games at launch better than the Switch could was likely a big factor in this, yes. Tropic Haze accepting money (or requiring it if you wanted day one access to the newest builds) was a big factor too.

To be fair, they likely would have settled regardless because they don’t have the money to fight Nintendo in court. Nintendo would have just dragged the case on until Tropic Haze ran out of money.

Odd that Nintendo went after Yuzu but not Ryujinx. Maybe because Yuzu put its latest builds behind Patreon paywalls?

I’m not so sure the studio has as much value as you think. They’ve almost exclusively worked on IP they didn’t create so they haven’t proven that they can create a successful original game. Their last game (Crash 4) received good reviews but wasn’t a commercial success.
