I just wish they had put more effort into their mission design.

This raises an interesting question about remasters. Should the reviewer be someone who loved the original games and played them extensively? Or should it be someone who has never played them before? Who’s actually the target audience for remasters?
I don’t remember the previous seasons having any supernatural vibes. Everything was clearly grounded in reality and all occurrences, discoveries, etc, stemmed from humans.
Sorry for potential spoilers. I assumed everyone reading the comments about a TV show that just finished would have already seen it.
Eh, it’s pretty overpriced. You can buy each of these games right now for under $10 and the original 3 can be found for under $5.
“Little occult” might be the understatement of the year. Season 4 straight up had ghosts. I figured they’d tried to explain it as hallucinations induced by the toxic water supply or something but they didn’t. They just straight up had ghosts. I’m not sure what the writers were thinking but they completely jumped the…
Yeah, people claiming this collection is overpriced are being silly. This remaster features new textures, new models, new animations, revamped level lighting, increased level detail (e.g. added foliage), 60+ FPS support, 4k support, widescreen (and ultrawide) support, full controller support, higher res FMV, an…
Pretty much. The images look fine to me and I think this is perfectly capable of being a fun movie, much like Jumanji.
Epic has done virtually nothing to improve their customer-facing services since the store launched.
Wonder how long Epic will keep up the giveaways. Their recent 2023 report shows that user acquisition isn’t a problem but converting those users into paying customers is. Giveaways won’t help with that. In fact, they probably make it worse because they’re conditioning users to not pay for games.
They’re deeply discounted on a regular basis so no real reason to not buy them if you’re genuinely interested in them.
Congrats to the devs for their surprising success. I don’t think anyone saw this happening, as the hype surrounding the game seemed minimal before launch. I don’t remember the first game having anywhere near as much fanfare either.
Quit selling studios to them!
Given the amount of layoffs that happened across the industry (to both acquired and independent studios) in 2023, I’m not sure how anyone could be surprised. Blizzard’s canceled project, for example, was in preproduction for 6 years and would have needed a complete engine overhaul before they could start full…
Pretty much. Most of Embracer’s acquisitions weren’t big, successful studios. They were primarily small studios that were struggling to stay afloat. In the current industry climate, those studios would have inevitably had layoffs or closures had they remained independent.
I thought your pedophile analogy was silly and explained why. If you don’t want people to criticize your analogies, make better analogies. Avoiding hyperbole goes a long way towards that.
Eh, I can dig it. This specific period in the SW lore is pretty stale now but I’m always down for any game that has a jetpack.
Just like the Switch, the Switch 2 (or whatever they call it) will very likely exist as a supplement to PS5 and XSX, not a replacement. I seriously doubt Nintendo is going to try to compete in the AAA market. They’ve been much more successful making smaller AA games that leverage their strong IP. People buy PS5/XSX…
Fig only paid for the prototyping and preproduction of Psychonauts 2 ($3.3m isn’t anywhere near enough money to fund a game with the scope and production values of P2). DF signed with Starbreeze to fully fund production, except Starbreeze basically went bankrupt midway through development and had to drop the project.…
Except in this particular case, Double Fine’s latest game (Psychonauts 2) was saved by the acquisition because MS funded the remainder of its development, resulting in the best (and most polished) game DF has ever made. As for Pentiment, Obsidian’s Josh Sawyer has gone on record stating that the game wouldn’t have…
