It seems odd that 1 TB isn’t the minimum capacity. Games are huge these days. The average AAA game is like 70+ gigs. 512 GB isn’t going to last long if you have multiple games installed.

The gunplay was pretty terrible due to them having your weapon’s accuracy be based on stats. Melee was decent fun, though.

From what I understand, a mod team has added actual, native HDR support to the game, no injector needed. I haven’t tried it yet, though.

I think it’s more that people have different definitions of “fine.” For example, if you’re running Starfield capped at 30 FPS, then you won’t notice the framerate drops because you have a crappy framerate by default. If you’re running it uncapped, the framerate drops will be very noticeable and aren’t hardware

Even at lowest settings, you’ll still get big framerate drops in cities. It’s not a hardware specific issue. Just poor optimization. Though, it seems like this patch improves that a bit.

Stealth is a pretty miserable in the early game because enemies detect you way too easily and you’re required to move at a snail’s pace in order to avoid detection.

Not sure I agree with that. As far as I know, “torture porn” refers to a specific horror subgenre that revolves around people being tortured in horrific ways (e.g. Hostel, SAW). The Tomb Raider games are definitely not torture porn, especially considering that Lara’s death scenes (which aren’t even that gruesome

Huh, for some reason I thought this thread was for a different article. I guess your responses make more sense now. That said, Xbox has always been a closed system so MS banning unauthorized controllers isn’t all that surprising. MS and the other console makers already exploit their closed systems by charging

Can you elaborate? Your brain records your experiences. Those experiences are based on sensory inputs. Whenever you see/hear/smell/taste anything, that experience is effectively added to a database of knowledge within your mind. Whenever you create something, your creation is derived from that database. That’s why 99%

I think Baldur’s Gate 3 has really shifted my perspective of what games can be, and what I want from games. I hope it’s not just a fluke in game development.

They’re entirely capable of more serious writing. The earlier Hitman games were pretty humorless. It won’t be difficult for them to take a more serious tone with the Bond game.

Kotaku’s writers really need to fact check this stuff. Banishers was delayed into Feb 2024 back in September.

We must be playing different games because Starfield absolutely craps the bed in the cities. Huge performance drops compared to other parts of the game.

You shared an opinion, I disagreed with it and explained the reasoning for my disagreement. That’s generally how discussions work. If you’re not interested in discussion, why bother posting?

What control are they exerting on Xbox now that they didn’t do before..?

There’s no evidence to show how a popular and well liked service Steam could go to shit after it has changed ownership.

Microsoft not forcing people to use their garbage on Windows PCs NOW isn’t comforting in response to Microsoft doing something uniquely restrictive on XBOX.

Surprised this feature didn’t roll out as soon as Valve let adult games on Steam. I imagine a lot of users don’t want to buy or play porn games on Steam because they don’t want people to know the depths of their depravity. This feature resolves that issue, potentially leading to significant increase in porn game

I don’t think anyone believes that. Obviously Gabe will eventually retire/die. The question is who will take over once that happens and what incentive they have to change business strategy that’s made Steam into a massive success over the past twenty years.

Is that any different from how the human mind works? Nothing is created in a vacuum. If you create something, it is derived from things that already exist. For example, if you draw a picture of an elf, it’s probably going to have pointy ears. Why? Because 99% of elf representations have pointy ears and you’re using
