The problem with this whole conversation is that it presumes a stereotype is accurate and even if it is to a large degree that most people are unhappy with it. Calling these things out as “emotional” chores is a red herring. They are chores just like any other chore that some might assume to be men’s or women’s work.

Not that it’s your fault, but they do have a point in that it is ridiculous that you can’t let your 9 year old run around the neighborhood with the other 9 year olds unsupervised.
