Given that the combat radius of the F-35b is 50% larger than the Harrier, I’d say it is a trade up.

I would frame it differently. The electronic mission equipment on this thing is a huge portion of the cost. More than the airframe design. You want a different airframe for each service, fine. You want separate programs? You’re nuts. The commonality in missions systems equipment is critical. But forget the mission

Yeah. But LM is just responding to the realities of the political landscape. We have created a political system that rewards certain behavior (bring home the pork) and LM has learned the lesson. I could go into why I it is this way and what could be done about it, but that’s for another forum.

Um, did you read the article? There were some positive points made.

It isn’t just Comanche. The Army hasn’t had a successful major development program for 20 years. They keep starting just to cancel. Comanche, Crusader, FCS, GCV. They seem to have given up on completely new development and are just doing (major) overhauls of existing equipment. Striker was an existing chassis, PIM is

Not only that, but the theoretical replacement, the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon (NLOS-C), which was part of the FCS development, was cancelled after that. Then the government threw up its hands and said fine, just make the Paladin better, so that seems to be what they are doing.

I know that dual mode (LASER and GPS) JDAMs are on deck if not already out there.

And... Once you have your license, and get your first bike, and get a little time to get comfortable... Go take the Basic Rider Course 2 (BRC2) formerly the ERC. You go do most of the parking lot exercises you did in the first course, and a few you didn’t, but now you do them on your own bike and getting more

Sure, but Linda is a nobody so who cares if she’s a hypocrite. Since Hillary is the one running for President, the only question that matters is whether the aligations are true. I believe that many of them are, including, but not limited to: Hillary, like her husband, is full of blind ambition and doesn’t care if she

That’s the beauty of it... He can be both!

Are you sure they aren’t Southies? Check to see if they pronounce the letter R

It’s you own damn fault. It’s sites like Jezebel that keep fawning over celebs lives outside work. Stop giving them stage when they get off track from what they are good at (acting, singing, sports, etc...).

I don’t think a lack of documentation for the stop is the issue here. I think that the video that is available is adequate. What we need is video in the jail of the events after she was arrested and you are not likely to get your own camera in there.

Wow, that escalated quickly. Please, try to act like an adult and keep the discourse civil.

Yeah, screw all those really really poor people who have nothing to do with this and no influence in politics, like most poor people around the world. F-them because you think all Africans are alike. You want to be judged based on the Trump branch of the Republican party? No? Then why would you put all Africans living

I drove through Bridgeport. I think I stopped for dinner somewhere around there.

While the airframe business is likely to stay in place, at least for the forseeable future, the complex software and systems integration work may be consolidated at the LM facility in Owego, NY where the Navy MH-60 R&S area already missionized.

Really? I thought it would be great what with being so close to NYC and Mass.

I doubt that this will have any impact on that competition. If anything it could drive the competition the other way to keep the supplier base viable.

Because the only organization that is worse and managing schedules, budget, requirements, etc, etc, than giant defense companies is the government. If you run any case studies of big defense programs gone wrong, you will see as much culpability on the government side as the contractor side.
