I think this misses the point. The roadways we have are not adequate for the miles we are driving today. Lets say miles driven doesn’t change for the next 10 years. We still need almost that much time to build more roads just to get the system caught up to the demand today.

Art Institute, sketchy loaning practices... I see what you did there.

It is true. There was an anecdotal story on TV about a guy who wanted to earn a living to support his new family. He went to one of those schools and now has a great job and his wife is so proud of him. Who wouldn’t believe that advertised examples wouldn’t be typical results?

But I saw a story on TV about a guy who just wanted to provide a nice living for his young family and went to DeVry for an education. He is now a successful electronics technician and moving up in the ranks at his company.

And where were the government folks who were administrating these programs? Shouldn’t they have done their homework and not authorized guarantees for loans for students at these colleges? There is enough blame to go around here. And where are the people who were in charge of this college conglomerate? Oh, it was a

Yes, sure. But who at the government was authorizing this crap for those colleges? I think they have a part of this. Unfortunately that means taxpayers. Just like the FHA should do their homework (and they do to an extent) on houses they are helping people buy.

I don’t think the android fans are upset. They are just enjoying calling Apple on the hypocrisy.

You miss the point. If they hadn’t said innovate every hour on the hour for the last 10 years and if Steve Jobs hadn’t gone “thermonuclear” over Android I wouldn’t have thought anything about it. The point is that they all take (or “steal” if you must) from each other. Apple is the only one that doesn’t admit it.

I have no idea how that statement came out of that story but I’ll bite...

Steve Jobs in 1996 when Apple was the underdog in the PC game:

Sure, and you shouldn’t exceed the speed limit, and you should make full, complete stops at stop signs even when there are no other vehicles in the vicinity, and by the way, you shouldn’t yell at people behind the wheel because that is more distracting than anything else mentioned in this thread.

Or you look up and just see the light, not the car in front of you and slam in the back of them.

Yeah, the theory is that if an F-35 gets into a real maneuvering dogfight, a bunch of stuff has already gone wrong. Dogfighting is plan B (or maybe C) in the F-35.

Note that my point was that I’m NOT in AU. I’m in the US and I get that compensation package in the US. So you can dismount your high horse. The whole point was that people in the US can and do get those types of packages. So I don’t know what “labor culture” you are talking about. Sure, it isn’t mandated, but I

I’m not sure what you mean by full capabilities. The original development program for F-35 is set to complete with the release of block 3F and Navy IOC. The program has defined the 3F (Navy IOC) configuration as “full capability” for the SDD phase. The plan seems to be switch production for all services over to block

Note that the Marines are to be the first service to go live with the F-35 later this year. The are accepting aircraft that have less in the way of mission systems capability than the other services in order to speed up the transition.

So, iOS 9 is getting more Android features. Nice.

When I say I didn’t see anyone supporting a family, it is because everyone I saw was either 17 during nights and weekends or 70 during the weekdays. I really didn’t see anyone inbetween who wasn’t some sort of manager. I admit it is possible that some of these folks were trying to support a family, but it doesn’t seem

20 years ago wasn’t exactly the dark ages. It isn’t like the officers were recording their notes into a Dictaphone and sending them to the typing pool where men and women (well, women) would transcribe them using manual typewriters and covering up mistakes with correction fluid.

The confusion seems to be that other countries require these great benefits, but the US does not require them and therefore nobody in the US gets these benefits, which just isn’t true. These benefits are just part of the total compensation package. My point was to show that you can get benefits in the US as good or
