It may be marketing, but every Harrier pilot that has done a vertical landing in an F-35 has commented about how much easier it is in the F-35.

I would guess that the US bike makers know they can’t compete in that market and instead sit on their ridiculously high margins for their cruisers, baggers, and touring bikes. Not to mention that Harley makes huge bank on accessories and branding.
Maybe it is because to stop a wheelie you slow down. To stop a stoppie you have to stop slowing down. You can panic stop from a wheelie, but not from a stoppie. (I’m making this up).
I don’t hit a lot of traffic where I live so I don’t really have a horse in this race, though I do think it would be nice to filter sometimes. In a practical sense I doubt that this law will make any difference. That said, the conclusions being drawn are not necessarily supported by the data. I need to do more…
If the “permanent record” were a real thing I’d be spending my entire adult life flipping burgers, emptying garbage, or selling used cars. (not that there’s anything wrong with that.) Instead I continued my education and am doing quite well professionally and financially (if I do say so myself).
It isn’t really legal. It just hasn’t been specifically outlawed by name. There are several laws in California that could be used to enforce a no-splitting policy...
When they say it isn’t illegal, they mean it isn’t spelled out as ‘lane splitting.’ There are laws on the books that could be used to prevent splitting (and are in other states). Such as... Signal to change lanes, no unsafe lane changes, vehicle entitled to the exclusive use of the entire width of the lane it…
Interesting point. In most states a vehicle is entitled to exclusive use of the entire width of the lane. It isn’t legal to split where I live, but often I will shift my position WITHIN my lane a little left or right to avoid debris or a pothole. I try to keep awareness but I don’t look back the same way I do when I’m…
Don’t tell me someone spends $10K on a bike without liquid cooling in the 21st century
Note: I read the summary of the study but have not poured through all the data and the specific criteria for each category. The Berkley study didn’t really make a clear conclusion, at least in the summary, that splitting was inherently safer. What I got out of it was that riders who split tend to be safer riders in…
The difference is that when you’re in traffic, the speed differential is greater when you split.
1. Beer is not a fair comparison. If he paid for it, he gets it. Full stop. I saw no other information about anyone else asking for a full, unopened soda. The question about the zone had more to do with whether the other passenger paid for the beer or it was free. Up front my beer has always come in a glass, in the…
Was this in first class or or coach? Generally you pay for beer when sitting in the back and you expect and should get the whole can. The weapons excuse was not the truth, was stupid, and may have simply been a severe F-Up rather than outright bigotry. (Not necessarily racism, Muslim is not a race). I’ve had flight…
Why are they just watching it go in circles? They take the kill switch off or something?
Per 100,000 what? Total population? Vehicle miles driven? Cars on the road? Passenger miles driven? Miles of highway? Does the statistic control for conditions? Roads, weather, pedestrian density, etc...
Don’t know what to tell you. It did. I also have a cordless electric lawn mower I bought in 1999, first battery went out in three years, second battery is still good enough to get my (small) lawn done. I attribute the life of the second battery to continuous charging since that was the thing I changed once I got the…
Nice post for drawing clicks. Thumbs up! Of course I don’t care if your kid is on the floor. But here’s the thing with all of this. I have been on many, many flights with kids who were great. You wouldn’t have know they were there if you hadn’t seen them board. And these are some long flights, 4+ hours. Same goes for…
When I lived in a cold climate I would connect a small charger all winter, one specifically designed for the purpose. I never had a fail in the spring and had the battery last >10 years.
You order 54 of them and I’ll wager you can negotiate any color you want.
I can almost guarantee you that the overhead activity associated with the procurement process and paperwork will be more money than the actual purchase of 54 of these motorcycles.
