Wow, it was flying upside down?!?! And why are the clouds green?

Yeah, I think sometimes the bad rap is deserved and sometimes it isn’t. I had a coworker tell me he was not having luck buying a car even though he had cash and was badmouthing the dealers up and down calling them crooks. Newly released model being advertised above MSRP and dealers still couldn’t keep them on the lot.…
Second that, and I’d skip Seattle anyway and take the ferry to Port Townsend. However: 1. I prefer outdoors to cities and 2. it will add a bunch of time to the trip.
I wonder which gauge it was. I wonder if there were other gauges or information they could have used to validate the data on the abnormal gauge. Like if the turbine speed went to 0 while the EGT was normal and there was no loss of power. If so, then yeah, they may be done.
I don’t know if you could be sure the right things were destroyed if you ‘bombed’ it. If they were concerned, they could always bring in some divers to put some demolition or thermite charges on it, or maybe just recover anything they cared about. I’d be curious to know the depth where this one settled.
They are pretty much the same in that category... Both CAN do vertical take off if you don’t put too much weight in fuel and bombs on them, but then why bother unless it’s an airshow or your base is getting overrun. In a practical sense they are both short take off.
Couldn’t they let the pilots board without the stupid TSA?
Note that TX does not have a state income tax. Property taxes are somewhat high to compensate, but I still pay significantly lower total taxes here than where I was before.
You will still need an inspection in TX. It isn’t bad, mostly lights and safety equipment, but if you live in the wrong place they may also do an emissions test. If you have a newer car they just plug into the OBD II port, if not then it is the probe in the pipe.
Here is an example of a Harrier doing the same thing.
I think there are differences in performance parameters that the Air Force cares more about than STOVL, such as range and payload
1. There is a set of cameras around the aircraft (DAS) that provide a view in just about every direction and the pilot can get that video slaved to his helmet mounted display, so in theory yes, but... If I understand correctly, the Marines are getting an older helmet when they go operational this year so I don’t know…
does it come in brown?
How do you think a conservative Christian would react if I showed a picture of Jesus being urinated on, spit on, vomited on, and defecated on at the same time? Angry maybe?
I think South Park covered this.
I hated that. Had a 1 ton 2WD version and the king pins were a PITA. Then had an F-150 4WD and had no end of trouble with the front axle. I guess I was just too hard on it. The U-joint was prone to wearing out and eventually even the slip yoke. It just wasn’t built to drive with the suspension being exercised. For…
I don’t recall that the LCS was taking over this role. Can you point me to some reading? It doesn’t really make much sense. The LCS is twice as long, twice as wide, twice as deep, and ten times as heavy, with twice as many crew, and on the order of 15x the cost. For just driving around and keeping an eye on what’s…
There are a lot of ways to get across the US without using the interstate highway system. There will be patches of straight-as-far-as-the-eye-can-see, but you can actually cover a significant portion of the plains on dirt roads, if that’s your thing. You can pick up a lot of local culture along the way, again if…
Interesting point. I work with a guy that (by his own admission) was getting too old to ride a big bike, so he sold his BMW touring bike and bought a 400cc scooter. He doesn’t do long cross-country rides anymore, it’s easier to maintain, he doesn’t have to hike his leg up over the seat, he could actually pick it up if…
I don’t get the appeal myself. However, think of it more like a work of art that is somewhat possible to ride in a straight line, than an actual practical MC. I find it easier reconcile that way. People like all kinds of crazy stuff when you call it art.
