Why would you spend any more time or effort than is necessary to create a functional design for something like this? Besides, there is a certain simple elegance about it, sort of like if Apple designed giant engines; but then it would cost more and nobody else would be able to use round holes in their engines.

Or if we had a sane planning policy, we wouldn't be packing more and more people into an area (that is already resource constrained) before putting the infrastructure in place.

I don't have numbers for the iPhone 6 but previous versions have been holding at around $200 per phone. Try searching for iPhone 5s build cost.

Say it costs Apple $200 per phone to make it. Add packaging accessories and shipping and we'll call it $250 to be generous. 200K * $250 = $50M potential Apple loss. Don't know the pedigree of this particular aircraft, but a new 747 cargo costs $350M+. So yes, I'm sure they have a large insurance policy.

Not a G3. It is an AR-15 like system with lots of bells and whistles. Odd stock, flat top, hand guard with rails, forward grip, etc.. You can see a decent frame at about 0:20, note the forward bolt assist.
