My guess? Workaround for a bug that was easier to fix by disabling the ability to steal them entirely.

I used to say that about the Call of Duty series until they, you know, took a notorious American war crime and blamed it on another country.

I don’t like this at all. I love blasting through areas that were hard before. While I am still curious about how 2.0 plays, this killed a lot of my hype.

It’s the only change I’m not happy about

I also kinda liked the feeling of “Oh shit, I should *not* be in this neighborhood right now.”

I hate this. Why not just get rid of levels completely if you’re going to go with 100% scaling?

All NPCs now scale to your level. Enemy difficulty is no longer dependent on what area of Night City you’re in.

Hear me out, give these brain-dead, drooling assholes EXACTLY what they want.

There’s been a couple of shots in trailers that seemed to show the crew getting hauled out of the rubble from the ending of Remake on stretchers and stuff, so presumably a “they took all our stuff / all our gear got broken” situation.

Just have a scene in an undisclosed location where Yuffie opens a box containing a bunch of the shiny little spheres and jumping for joy, and cut to Cloud looking dumbfounded when he departs after his story time at Kalm - in that confused look he often does:

Makes sense. Seeing how you’re geared to the teeth at the end of Part 1, I figured part 2 would be like this or have the classic Metroid “Oh no, all my stuff got broken” cinematic. Which they could have done since Yuffie does steal the party’s gear in the OG, but oh well.

Yeah it’s absolutely just bare-faced lying to make out 2077 had particularly bad writing by videogame standards. Dialogue-wise it actually has particularly good writing by videogame standards (better than a lot of recent movies, honestly, but that’s not a high bar right now). But plot-wise some questions could be

I think Square-Enix is legendary for their impossible sales targets. It really hurts them in the long run since nearly every game is a failure by their arbitrary metrics.

“They just have the absolute most insane expectations. They could have shipped through to literally half the PS5 global install base and still been disappointed.”

This. Absolutely this. The eternal “arrow must always go higher” mentality that forces astronomical goals is such a damn cancer that even games that are

It’s completely baffling. Never could have seen it coming. Wow. Wild. Incredible.

Sarcasm aside, SE has been pretty blind to what fans of their games actually want for a very long time for the most part.

Wait, so are you telling me that when you change a mainline game of a storied franchise from the genre it helped build into a pretty but otherwise mediocre action game, fans who didn’t preorder aren’t interested?

How interesting that the CEO also just sold a bunch of his shares in Unity this weekend... I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

I guess I’m not surprised about this kind of shit, considering the CEO of Unity was previously CEO of EA

Exactly, don't know why people are giving them a gold star for this when modders have done it years ago

lol Wow. A half-working ladder, by the looks of it! ;)
