If the "point" is that local maps are pointless, very strange to include local maps.

Why would people want a feature that is included in the game to be functional? Is a uh, weird flex. 

The dude knows fun. A lot of game designers don’t. I don’t think there’s anyone who’s master the joy play in the gaming industry as much as him.

Ya....Sonic Team has a pretty long history of sounding super bitter when Sonic games developed in the west do much better then the ones they come up with.  They then double down instead of making the games people actually want.

Exactly. They’ll probably reverse this opinion when they see fans once again develop their own 2D Sonic games (which is essentially how Sonic Mania was created in the first place).

Well they are wrong, just like those late 90's/ early 2000's console developers who thought nobody would play 2D games in the future.

Well maybe since they’ve made billions of dollars selling Skyrim over and over and their games are all automatic AAA contenders they could perhaps upgrade their engine? That’s what I might expect.

Don’t really care if there’s boundaries or not on planets - there have been boundaries in ALL Bethesda Elder Scrolls and Fallout games in the past, it’s not really a problem.
