I agree that the nature of the original post was a little harsh, but the reasoning (excuse?) that "they are bloggers" doesn't do anything to move the medium of internet journalism forward.

If bloggers want to be taken seriously as "real" journalists, they should hold themselves to the same standards as print journalists. You probably don't see too many spelling errors in the NYT.

Is it really a solution if you're just moving cabinet clutter (which is out-of-sight, at least) into plain view? Or going from cluttering a cabinet to cluttering a broom closet? The only real solution is #10: get rid of stuff you just don't need.

I realize there are weak links; the services claim not to log user activity, but who really knows. I was primarily asking in terms of not being identified by people who watch the flow traffic on particular torrent files.

Of course he *could* copy the music for his family, but it's always best when what you're doing is legitimately legal :)
