We started an almost completely different 11 against Chile but I get your point. Lloyd did score twice that game, but it felt like she should have had 6. And toward the end of the tourney I did sometimes feel like Lloyd was put on to appease her vs where she fit best. France and England games for sure
I will argue that Rapinoe didn’t play that great for most of the WC. Lots of turnovers, most goals off of free kicks, didn’t track back greatly. Not saying she was bad, but the play wasn’t player of the year worthy. I’m on board with Press for sure.
